What Is Available

HowBridge (0523.tw), a consolidated-shipping and customs-brokerage platform, today launched a public MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, enabling compatible AI assistants to directly call its Taiwan import tariff search and consolidated-shipping estimation functions. The service can be accessed without an application, API key, or registration.

What Is MCP?

MCP is an open protocol that connects AI assistants to external data and tools. Previously, when answering questions such as “How much tax would I pay to import this product into Taiwan?”, AI could only rely on tariff rates in its training data, which might be outdated. Through MCP, AI can query the data source directly for current figures when the question is asked.

Member-Only Server

HowBridge also provides a member-only MCP server using OAuth 2.1 authorization with PKCE. Members can authorize an AI assistant to check the status of their own packages. This service requires members to sign in and complete authorization, and uses a different endpoint from the public tools described above.
