Cross-Border Warranty Differences

Most camera brands offer country-of-purchase warranty onlyThis is the biggest risk in forwarding photography gear. Repairs may require return to the purchase country or paid service in Taiwan.

Used camera markets are mature. Focus on grading, warranty, return policy and inspection.

Freight and Precision Packing

Photography gear is high-value and fragileWhether lithium batteries can be accepted must be confirmed item by item according to the battery's Wh rating, whether it is installed in the equipment, the UN38.3 test summary, packaging method, route and carrier rules; passenger baggage rules are not the same as freight rules.

Photography Gear FAQ

Map Camera used or KEH used: which is better?
For Sony, Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm, Map Camera is strong. For US used gear and vintage lenses, KEH is strong. For Leica and European brands, check Mpb.
What should I inspect on a used camera?
Check shutter count, exterior wear, sensor condition, autofocus, metering, screen and viewfinder. For lenses, check fungus, dust, aperture and focus.
Will DJI drones get stuck at customs?
They can. Drones involve lithium batteries, NCC and Taiwan drone rules. Models over 250g usually require registration.
Is used camera warranty useful?
Store warranty is more practical than cross-border manufacturer warranty. First-time used buyers should prefer Map Camera, KEH or Mpb.
