HowBridge currently provides consolidation services only from China (the Shenzhen consolidation warehouse) to Taiwan. It has not yet launched routes from the United States, Japan, Korea, Europe, or other overseas regions, and does not have any overseas warehouse addresses available for use, official rates, or guaranteed transit times. The warehouse names, shipping fees, and transit times mentioned on this page are provided solely as general market references and do not represent the services offered by this site. Do not use them to fill in a delivery address or place an order. If any such routes are launched in the future, the official website announcements and the terms then in effect will apply.
Taiwan Alcohol Import Rules
- Keep personal-use alcohol within 5 liters to reduce commercial-use risk.
- Alcohol percentage, volume and product name affect tax and customs review.
- High ABV, leaks, breakage or carrier bans may block shipment.
Common tax points
| Category | Typical items | Main taxes | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wine | Red, white and rose wine | Duty, alcohol tax, VAT | Estimate by volume and ABV. Keep invoices. |
| Beer | Cans and bottles | Alcohol tax, VAT | Heavy weight and glass raise risk. |
| Spirits | Whisky, brandy, vodka | Higher alcohol tax | Higher ABV usually means higher tax. |
| Sake and rice wine | Sake, shochu | Tax by ABV and volume | Confirm the platform can export. |
| Champagne and sparkling wine | Champagne, Prosecco, Cava | Similar to wine | Pressurized bottles need stronger packing. |
Tax Examples
French red wine, 750ml, 13% ABV
- Customs value usually includes product price, freight and insurance.
- Duty, alcohol tax and 5% VAT are then calculated by category.
- Even one premium bottle can carry noticeable tax. Estimate first.
Scotch whisky, 700ml, 46% ABV
- Spirits have higher ABV, so alcohol tax is often higher than wine.
- Several bottles can quickly approach the 5 liter personal-use limit.
- Compare item price, freight and tax together, and confirm the carrier accepts alcohol shipments.
