How Do I Save My Consolidated Shipping Invoice to a Mobile Barcode? HowBridge Carrier Settings and Whether You Need Carrier Consolidation
HowBridge consolidated shipping invoices can be saved directly to a mobile barcode or a Citizen Digital Certificate. HowBridge does not issue a member carrier, so you do not need to do member carrier consolidation. Save your choice once in “Invoice Settings” on the billing page, and it fills in automatically for every online payment after that.
The mobile barcode format is / plus 7 characters (0-9, uppercase A-Z and . - +). HowBridge only checks the format; it does not ask the Ministry of Finance whether the barcode actually exists, so copy it from the redemption app or the Ministry of Finance platform instead of typing it from memory. The setting applies only to invoices issued afterwards; invoices already issued are not moved to your carrier automatically.

Which carriers does HowBridge accept? Only mobile barcodes and Citizen Digital Certificates
HowBridge e-invoices can be saved to two Ministry of Finance common carriers: a mobile barcode or a Citizen Digital Certificate. HowBridge has no member carrier of its own, and your member account itself is not an invoice carrier. At payment there are 5 issuing options in total, and you can pick only one:
| Issuing option | What to enter | Where the invoice goes | Eligible for the lottery? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile barcode | / plus 7 characters, e.g. /ABC1234 | Saved to your mobile barcode; no paper is printed | Yes, matched by the Ministry of Finance platform |
| Citizen Digital Certificate | 2 uppercase letters plus 14 digits (the barcode number on the certificate card) | Saved to your Citizen Digital Certificate carrier | Yes |
| Company tax ID | 8-digit tax ID (company name optional) | A triplicate invoice is issued and the certificate copy printed; no carrier | No; by law, invoices whose buyer is a business entity are not eligible for prizes |
| Donate the invoice | 3–7 digit donation code | Donated directly to the recipient organization | The recipient organization claims any prize; you cannot |
| Paper certificate copy (default) | Nothing to enter | You can download the certificate copy PDF on the billing page | You must check the numbers yourself and claim with the certificate copy |
The invoice item is always “consolidated shipping service fee”. The import duty and business tax paid on your behalf are not themselves invoiced; for what is invoiced and filing expenses with a tax ID, see the e-invoice issuing guide.
Why do you not need “member carrier consolidation”?
Because HowBridge invoices go straight into your mobile barcode or Citizen Digital Certificate from the start. There is no member carrier in between, so there is nothing to consolidate. Many consolidated shipping guides online tell you to do “member carrier consolidation” on the Ministry of Finance platform because those companies issue their own member carriers. HowBridge does not, so you can skip this step.
What carrier consolidation is
Under Point 15 of the Ministry of Finance’s Mobile Barcode Application, Use and Related Notes, consolidation means linking different carriers “to the mobile barcode, so that the cloud invoices stored in the various carriers can be managed in one place”. For example, once invoices in carriers such as an EasyCard or a store membership card are consolidated under your mobile barcode, you can look them up, receive prize notifications and get automatic prize deposits together with your mobile barcode.
Who actually needs consolidation
The prize-claim notes on the Ministry of Finance eTax Portal state that for membership card carriers, “the membership card store notifies you of a win, or you check on that store’s website”; only for carriers already consolidated on the platform does “the platform notify you of a win by email”. So consolidation is for people who hold carriers such as member carriers, EasyCard or icash.
How it works with HowBridge
When you choose a mobile barcode on HowBridge, the invoice is recorded under your mobile barcode as soon as it is issued. According to the same prize-claim notes, for mobile barcode carriers “the E-Invoice Platform notifies you of a win by email”. You only need to complete the email verification and prize-claim settings for your mobile barcode on the Ministry of Finance platform; there is no need to consolidate HowBridge separately.
No mobile barcode yet? Apply on the Ministry of Finance platform first
A mobile barcode is applied for free on the Ministry of Finance E-Invoice Platform (einvoice.nat.gov.tw); HowBridge cannot apply on your behalf. Under Point 4 of the notes, the process is:
Accept the terms and fill in your details
On the platform, accept the mobile barcode “Terms of Service and Privacy Statement”, enter your mobile number and email address, and set your own verification code (password).
Enter the one-time SMS password
Enter the one-time password the platform texts to you. Once it checks out, your application is complete and you receive an 8-character mobile barcode starting with
/.Verify your email address
The platform sends a verification email to the address you entered. Only after verifying your email can you use personalized features such as “consolidation settings”, “prize-claim settings” and “default donation recipient”. If you want prize money deposited automatically, do not skip this step.
You can also download the Ministry of Finance uniform invoice redemption app to apply for and view your mobile barcode. When you later enter the barcode on HowBridge, we recommend copying and pasting it straight from the app or the platform.
Set it once on HowBridge and it fills in for every payment
Invoice settings belong to your member account. Save them once and they fill in automatically for online payments after that, with no need to re-enter them each time. The steps are:
Open “My Bills”
After logging in, go to “My Bills”. New members without any bills yet can also set this up.
Tap the small gear on the right of the tab bar
The gear opens the “Invoice Settings” window; the old address
/member/invoice-settingsalso leads to the same window.Choose “Mobile barcode carrier” and paste the barcode
Choose “Mobile barcode carrier” (or “Citizen Digital Certificate”), paste the barcode number and tap “Save settings”. If the format is wrong, an error is shown right away and nothing is saved.
| Where you pay | How the carrier is filled in |
|---|---|
| Web checkout | Your invoice settings are pre-filled and can be changed on the spot. If you submit with “Remember my choice” ticked (ticked by default), this choice is saved as your new default. |
| In-app payment | If the payment screen has invoice options, you can choose there. Older app versions without invoice options apply your invoice settings directly, so save your carrier on the billing page first. |
| Value-added service payments such as package photos, item counting and returns | Your invoice settings are pre-filled and can be changed on the spot. |
| Existing members who have never set it | Automatically uses the option from your last e-invoice actually issued; if that was paper, it stays paper. |
For amounts settled by bank transfer, the invoice is issued separately by our accounting staff, not automatically at the time of payment. If you want it saved to a carrier, tell customer service your mobile barcode before you pay.
Format rules, when it takes effect, and whether a tax ID can be combined
Mobile barcode: / plus 7 characters
8 characters in total. The first is a slash /; the other 7 can only be digits 0-9, uppercase letters A-Z, and the three symbols ., - and +. Lowercase letters are converted to uppercase automatically.
Citizen Digital Certificate: 2 letters plus 14 digits
16 characters in total: 2 uppercase letters followed by 14 digits, e.g. AB12345678901234.
HowBridge only checks the format, not whether the barcode exists
HowBridge currently does not verify with the Ministry of Finance whether the barcode really exists. If the format is correct but one character is wrong, the invoice is still issued and uploaded as usual, and you will not find it in your own carrier. So copy the barcode from the redemption app or the Ministry of Finance platform, and after saving, compare it with the number shown on screen.
What happens if the format is wrong
The Invoice Settings window, the web checkout and the work-order payment page all check the format first, and you cannot submit with a wrong format. But if a carrier reaches the system another way (for example from the app) in the wrong format, the system does not stop the payment; it skips the carrier and issues a paper certificate copy instead, with no separate warning on screen. The safest approach is to save your carrier in Invoice Settings first (see the e-invoice issuing guide).
Applies only to invoices issued afterwards
The issuing option for a payment is recorded when the payment is submitted. If you change your invoice settings later, only later payments are affected; payments already issued or already submitted do not change.
A tax ID and a carrier cannot be combined
On HowBridge, once you enter a company tax ID, a triplicate invoice is always issued and the certificate copy printed, and it is not also saved to a carrier. Choose the tax ID if you need to file expenses, or the mobile barcode if you want it in your carrier for the lottery; it is one or the other. Donation and a carrier cannot be chosen together either.
After it is in your carrier: where to check, match numbers and claim prizes
For invoices saved to a carrier, looking them up, matching the numbers and claiming prizes all happen on the Ministry of Finance platform and the redemption app; HowBridge is not involved. Once HowBridge uploads the invoice within the transmission deadline set by the Ministry of Finance, you can look it up (for the deadline, see the e-invoice issuing guide).
| What to do | How (Ministry of Finance rules) |
|---|---|
| Look up invoices | On the Ministry of Finance E-Invoice Platform, the uniform invoice redemption app, or a convenience store multimedia kiosk (KIOSK), enter your mobile number and verification code to look up cloud invoices (Point 8 of the notes). |
| Prize notification | When a mobile barcode invoice wins, the platform sends a prize notification to your email (Point 12). With a Citizen Digital Certificate carrier you can log in to the platform with the certificate to check; the official rules do not say explicitly whether an email is sent, and this page does not speculate. |
| Automatic deposit | Set up a prize account on the platform or in the redemption app. It must be set by 23:59 on the day before the draw date of that period, and the prize is deposited automatically on the 6th of the month after the draw date (postponed if that falls on a holiday) (Point 5). |
| No account set up | Set up your prize-claim details in the redemption app and claim there, or enter your mobile number and verification code at a KIOSK, print the winning certificate copy and claim with it (Point 12). |
HowBridge does not send prize notifications; ignore any prize message claiming to be from HowBridge. For draw dates, claim deadlines and how to claim for each invoice type, see How do I know if my consolidated shipping invoice won?
Typed the barcode wrong or forgot to choose a carrier
An invoice already issued will not move to your carrier just because you changed your settings. Whether it can be changed depends on how it was paid and how long ago it was issued:
Invoices for online payments: submit a “Request correction”
Go to “My Bills” → “Docs” → “Freight invoices”, tap Request correction on that invoice, choose “Mobile barcode” and enter the correct barcode, then submit. The request is reviewed manually by customer service; if approved, the original invoice is voided and a new one is issued with the new details. If the invoice’s period has already been filed, only an allowance is possible and the carrier can no longer be changed. Submitting does not guarantee the change; the review result is shown in the invoice section.
Invoices for bank transfers: contact customer service
Invoices for transfer payments cannot be corrected online; please contact customer service, and our accounting staff will handle it in line with Ministry of Finance rules.
Conditions for a request
The invoice must be on your own bill, paid by online payment, not voided, and already recorded on the Ministry of Finance platform, and there must be no other pending request for the same invoice.
How HowBridge invoices use carriers
For the period 2026-09-07 to 2026-09-23 (Taipei time), HowBridge issued 109 e-invoices that are currently valid: paper certificate copy 65, company tax ID 23, mobile barcode 20, donation 1, Citizen Digital Certificate 0.
Data from HowBridge e-invoice issuing records. This is a small sample of just over two weeks and does not represent long-term proportions. If you choose a paper certificate copy, you have to check the numbers yourself and claim with the certificate copy if you win; if you do not need to file expenses, saving to a mobile barcode is much easier.
