Independent-seller marketplace
Each store sets prices, currency, minimum buy, payment methods, handling time and destinations.
BrickLink is a LEGO Group-owned marketplace made up of independent sellers, not one official retail store. Taiwan buyers can use it, but every store sets its own shipping, minimum purchase and destinations. Check the listing and seller terms separately; Taiwan duties and BSMI requirements depend on the actual product, material, function and CCC classification.
The LEGO Group announced its acquisition of BrickLink in 2019. Its announcement described a platform with over one million members and more than 10,000 stores across 70 countries, plus a marketplace, digital design software and fan community.
Each store sets prices, currency, minimum buy, payment methods, handling time and destinations.
Search by set or part number, color and condition for replacements, MOCs and retired products.
New, Used, Complete, Incomplete and sealed box are not interchangeable; read the lot description and store terms.
Orders from several stores normally create several shipping charges; consolidation value depends on dimensions, weight, value and box condition.
Separating product verification from international shipping helps prevent missing parts, cost overruns and collector-box damage.
Search by item number: filter sets, parts or minifigures by color, condition and seller location.
Read lot and store terms: verify completeness, box/instructions, minimum buy, handling fees and destinations.
Compare landed cost: include item price, domestic shipping, international freight, insurance, taxes and repacking.
Choose delivery: if the seller does not ship to Taiwan, use a forwarding warehouse only where service and returns are confirmed.
Check on arrival: identify parcels by customer code and document the carton, quantity and visible damage; retain unboxing evidence for valuables.
Pack and declare by value: assess collector boxes and loose parts separately, and declare name, quantity, value and use truthfully.
Designer Program is limited-time crowdfunding for fan-designed sets. Under the official BrickLink FAQ, a set needs at least 3,000 pre-orders to qualify for production; each Series page publishes its limits and dates.
Finalists are announced before the limited crowdfunding window.
Current Series pages use a household limit to keep access fair.
Qualified sets receive one production run; a sellout does not promise a reissue.
Six months is an estimate; production and delivery dates may change.
Brick sets often fall within toy categories, but the brand alone cannot determine a tariff code. Motors, lights, batteries or mixed materials can change classification and controls. Use the HowBridge AI tariff search for a candidate CCC, then verify officially.
| Topic | Current rule | Practical action |
|---|---|---|
| Low-value relief | A shipment with customs value at or below NT$2,000 is generally exempt from customs duty and customs-collected taxes; exclusions include tobacco, alcohol, tariff-quota farm goods and frequent imports. | Do not treat split orders as guaranteed exemption; Customs can assess shipment grouping and frequency. |
| Import VAT | Customs collects VAT on taxable imports, using a base that includes customs value and legally added amounts. | Keep proof of price, international freight, insurance and other chargeable amounts. |
| Personal-use toy exemption | Non-sale toys may use CI000000000005 when one declaration line is US$1,000 or less and no more than five of the same model, or above US$1,000 with quantity one, subject to review. | Ask the broker and BSMI before shipping repeat models, high-value items or recurring imports. |
| Multiple SKUs | One carton may contain several SKUs, but each product still needs its true name, specification, quantity, value and classification. | A shared CCC does not justify one vague description for the whole carton. |
The smallest parcel is not always right for a collectible. Decide whether the retail box must be preserved, only the contents matter, or box removal is acceptable.
Record dents, seal damage and creases; never place tape or carrier labels directly on sealed retail boxes.
Moisture bag, cushioning, rigid corner protection and outer shipping carton; fill voids without crushing.
Bag by lot and keep labels. Use sealed bags for tiny pieces and do not mix them loose with heavy sets.
Keep listing, payment, warehouse and unboxing records; consider insurance and signature by actual value.
Give these details to the forwarder and broker to reduce document requests.
