Shipping Eyewear from China to Taiwan: Classify It First, Then Check Import and Inspection Rules

Last verified:

Ordinary frames and some eyewear from China may be assessed for shipment to Taiwan via our Shenzhen warehouse, but first check the full 11-digit CCC, origin restrictions, and TFDA, BSMI, and NCC requirements for the product’s actual functions; whether it may be shipped comes before the tax rate. China-origin contact lenses under CCC 9001.30.00.00-5 are listed in the table of mainland-China goods prohibited from import, with import requirement 504 MW0. Our Shenzhen warehouse therefore does not accept consolidated Taobao contact-lens shipments. Non-prescription sunglasses are BSMI inspection products, and corrective lenses or smart glasses must not simply be declared as ordinary frames.

Definition

This page concerns eyewear sent by a Chinese seller to a Shenzhen warehouse and then lawfully declared for import into Taiwan. Ordinary frames, corrective lenses, contact lenses, non-prescription sunglasses, and smart glasses must be assessed separately.

Steps

Confirm origin and shipping location → identify use and functions → find the full 11-digit CCC → check MW0, TFDA, BSMI, and NCC → confirm warehouse acceptance → declare truthfully.

Comparison

China-origin contact lenses cannot be sent through our Shenzhen warehouse. Ordinary frames may first be classified; check BSMI for non-prescription sunglasses and NCC for smart glasses with radio functions.

Data

For general origin countries, convenient clearance for daily disposable contact lenses is 60 lenses per prescription, one brand, up to two prescriptions, once every six months. That rule does not remove the MW0 restriction on China-origin goods.

What Five Eyewear Categories Should Be Separated Before Consolidating Taobao Orders?

Only orders that a Chinese seller actually delivers to our Shenzhen warehouse are within this service. Before ordering, obtain the full product name, material, prescription status, medical purpose, sun or protection claims, wireless functions, model, quantity, price, and origin. We do not provide purchasing-agent services and have no warehouses in the United States, Japan, Korea, or Europe.

“Eyewear” is not a single regulatory classification. An item name, marketplace category, or the words “personal use” cannot by themselves establish that it may be shipped or that a fixed tax rate applies.

Can Taobao contact lenses be shipped to Taiwan?

They cannot be sent through our Shenzhen warehouse. China-origin contact lenses under CCC 9001.30.00.00-5 are listed in the table of mainland-China goods prohibited from import, with import requirement 504 MW0. Whether for personal use, prescription, non-prescription cosmetic lenses, daily disposables, or unopened goods, the general TFDA convenient-clearance quantity cannot be used as a release basis for China-origin goods.

China origin / shipped from China

Our Shenzhen warehouse does not accept contact lenses. Do not open boxes, split shipments, or alter the product name to evade declaration. Ask the competent authority first if origin or a special case is uncertain.

Other origin countries

They are outside our service route. General personal-use rules still depend on origin, product type, wearing type, quantity, and project-approval conditions; this does not mean our service can accept the item.

“MW0” is not synonymous with every product in Chapters 25–97. This item, however, is expressly listed in the current table of mainland-China goods prohibited from import, so a small-quantity industrial-goods exemption cannot be used to infer that it may be shipped.

How Do I Check TFDA, BSMI, NCC, and the 11-Digit CCC for Eyewear?

One pair of glasses may combine corrective, sun-protection, recording, and wireless functions. Not finding one exact statutory phrase does not mean a rule is inapplicable; verify each layer according to actual functions.

  • Contact-lens classification: Soft and rigid gas-permeable contact lenses may be Class II or Class III depending on use. Non-prescription soft contact lenses are also medical devices; prescription status alone is not decisive.
  • Sunglasses inspection: Non-prescription sunglasses are inspection products subject to a declaration of conformity under CNS 15067. “Ordinary sunglasses” does not mean there is no applicable regulation.
  • Smart glasses: Personal-use radio quantity limits are only one layer. If the product also functions as sunglasses, confirm BSMI scope too, along with battery and carrier conditions.

What Are the Declaration Steps for Shipping Eyewear from China to Taiwan?

  1. Confirm the route: We handle only Chinese sellers’ deliveries to the Shenzhen warehouse; shipments from other countries are outside this service.
  2. Identify the product: Determine whether it is an ordinary frame, corrective lens, contact lens, non-prescription sunglasses, or smart glasses, and obtain the full model and functions.
  3. Find the 11-digit code: Use material, prescription status, use, and functions to find the full CCC; do not substitute a marketplace category.
  4. Check shippability first: Check mainland-China import restrictions, then TFDA, BSMI, NCC, and other licensing requirements.
  5. Obtain warehouse acceptance: Submit the product page, invoice, model, quantity, origin, specifications, packaging, and relevant permit materials.
  6. Declare truthfully: Use the real product name, use, quantity, and price, and retain order, payment, and specification documents.

How Do Ordinary Frames, Corrective Lenses, Sunglasses, and Smart Glasses Differ?

ScenarioMain official gateDo not infer directly
Ordinary frames11-digit CCC, material, origin, and useNo prescription does not exempt all eyewear from review
Corrective lenses / prescription eyewearTFDA, quantity, CCC, and project conditions“I wear it myself” does not mean automatic lawful clearance
China-origin contact lensesTable of mainland-China goods prohibited from import; 504 MW0The 60-lens or once-per-six-month rule cannot make them shippable
Non-prescription sunglassesBSMI CNS 15067 and inspection markA genuine brand product is not necessarily compliant with Taiwan inspection
Smart glassesNCC radio rules, BSMI functional scope, battery, and carriageOne item for personal use is not guaranteed clearance

What are the official quantities and dates of personal eyeglasses?

  • Daily disposable contact lenses: General convenient clearance allows 60 lenses per prescription, one brand, and up to two prescriptions per person, with each item limited to once every six months. This is not 360 lenses and does not remove China-origin restrictions.
  • Corrective lenses: The convenient-clearance table generally allows no more than 1 pair in total. For excess quantities, unlisted goods, or unmet conditions, confirm the project-approval process first.
  • NCC personal-use radio equipment: If conditions are met, mail or another non-hand-carried method allows no more than 2 units per shipment and no more than 10 units per natural person or legal entity per year. A natural person must be at least 18 years old; goods are for personal use only and may not be resold.
  • Taxes and charges: Calculate them from the current 11-digit CCC, origin, customs value, and licensing outcome. This page does not use unsupported brand prices, price differences, or fixed tax rates.
  • Dates checked: The table of mainland-China goods prohibited from import was checked on 2026-09-20; customs tariff data were updated on 2026-09-16. Check again before shipping.

Sending Glasses to Taiwan FAQ

Can Taobao contact lenses be sent through the Shenzhen warehouse?
No. China-origin contact lenses under CCC 9001.30.00.00-5 are listed in the table of mainland-China goods prohibited from import, with import requirement 504 MW0. Our Shenzhen warehouse does not accept them; opening boxes, splitting shipments, or claiming “personal use” cannot circumvent this.
Is there not a personal-use limit for shipping contact lenses to Taiwan?
General origin countries do have convenient-clearance quantities, but those do not remove the restriction on China-origin goods. The daily-disposable rule is 60 lenses per prescription, one brand, up to two prescriptions, once every six months—not any desired six-month supply.
Is carrying goods into Taiwan after buying abroad the same as mailing them?
No. Passenger carriage and postal shipments may follow different procedures. This page covers only a Chinese seller’s delivery to our Shenzhen warehouse. For self-carried goods purchased abroad, check current Customs and TFDA requirements separately.
Can Warby Parker glasses be shipped to Taiwan through this service?
We have no U.S. warehouse and do not offer U.S.-to-Taiwan consolidation. Only orders actually shipped by a seller from China to the Shenzhen warehouse, and which pass Taiwan import and inspection review, may be assessed separately.
How do I check authorized Ray-Ban goods and parallel imports?
Check authorized Ray-Ban goods with the brand or a Taiwan-authorized channel, not marketplace wording. For shipments from China, also verify the invoice, model, authenticity, origin, non-prescription-sunglasses inspection mark, and relevant import information.
Does searching for eyewear export information establish that Taiwan allows import?
No. “Eyewear export” concerns the exporting side. Taiwan import still depends on the 11-digit CCC, actual origin, MW0, TFDA, BSMI, NCC, and Customs requirements.
Is one smart-glasses item for personal use guaranteed clearance?
No. Check Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or other radio modules; the NCC procedure; whether BSMI sunglasses inspection also applies; and battery and carrier conditions.

Confirm the Eyewear Type and Import Requirements Before Arranging Shenzhen Warehousing

Prepare the product page, invoice, full model, functions, quantity, origin, material, packaging, and relevant permit documents. Do not send contact lenses to the Shenzhen warehouse.
