HowBridge currently has no consolidation warehouse in Japan and does not offer shipping from Japan to Taiwan. The information below compares public shopping routes only. Confirm actual acceptance, price and timing with the platform, seller and independently selected carrier.
How to view the three platforms
Treat them as different shopping entry points; do not rely on a fixed discount or a universal ranking.
Amazon Japan
Useful for checking item-level direct delivery at checkoutAmazonGlobal lists Taiwan as a destination, but eligibility still depends on the item, seller, inventory and address. Import Fees Deposit is an estimate, not customs’ final amount; Prime and international-shipping eligibility are separate.
Rakuten Ichiba
Useful for comparing products and terms across shopsRakuten Ichiba is a marketplace and shop terms vary. Rakuten Global Express was operating on 2026-08-26 as an official forwarding service requiring separate registration, identity verification and a Japan shopping address; Taiwan is listed, but this is not shop direct shipping.
Yodobashi
Useful for researching products and Japanese delivery conditionsDo not assume an online order can be sent overseas. Check delivery area, account requirements, payment verification and item restrictions. Failure to reach Taiwan does not mean HowBridge can receive it.
Separate the three purchase routes
The same item can have different checkout tax, transport responsibility and Taiwan import steps under each route.

What to check for Taiwan
A platform accepting the order does not prove that the item complies with Taiwan import rules.
- Use the complete product name, material, purpose and specifications to find a candidate 11-digit CCC code; do not declare only a brand or “general goods.”
- The NT$2,000 low-value test uses customs value including international freight, insurance and other applicable additions. Only the first six qualifying entries per half-year receive the relief; the seventh loses relief but is not prohibited. Customs determines all charges.
- Food, cosmetics, medical devices, radio-frequency products, toys, electrical goods and other specified items may require a permit or inspection.
- From 2026-03-01, prior confirmation applies to all personal simplified express entries using EZ WAY online authorization. Verify item and value and select mismatch when wrong; this does not mean every international postal parcel uses EZ WAY.

Japanese consumption tax and Taiwan import tax are separate
Identify the transaction and transport route before applying either system.
Japanese domestic online purchase
An online order delivered to a Japanese address normally includes consumption tax; forwarding is not traveler tax-free shopping. Rakuten Global Express does not refund consumption tax on the purchased goods themselves.
Platform export delivery
If the platform exports directly to Taiwan, treatment of consumption tax depends on the platform, seller and final checkout. Do not assume the product-page price is already tax-free.
Traveler tax-free reform
From 2026-11-01, Japan’s traveler tax-free system changes to a refund after departure confirmation. Eligibility, purchase records and export confirmation follow official and store procedures.
Taiwan import charges
Taiwan customs value, duty, business tax, commodity tax and mandatory inspection are determined from the actual goods and declaration. They are separate from Japanese consumption tax.
Seven checks before payment
- Record the full product name, model, material, purpose, quantity and seller.
- Use the actual destination to confirm delivery on the product page and at final checkout.
- Review item price, tax, delivery and any import-fee wording in checkout.
- Confirm the return address, refund method and responsibility for cross-border returns.
- Get carrier approval first for batteries, liquids, fragile or regulated goods.
- Use /search for CCC, permit and inspection leads, then /c/ for freight and oversize estimates.
- Keep the order, invoice, payment, product page and declaration-review records.
