2026 Taobao Items Not Allowed for Taiwan Shipping
The following items must not be shipped from Taobao to Taiwan. They may be seized, returned or fined. Check before ordering:

Most Taobao, Tmall, Pinduoduo and 1688 sellers ship only to mainland China addresses. Taiwan buyers usually have three options:

A few sellers offer direct international shipping, but freight is usually expensive and each order is shipped separately.

Small private forwarders may look cheaper, but often lack formal customs handling, clear bills or claims support.

How does Taobao consolidation to Taiwan work?
1Register and get a warehouse address

How is Taobao-to-Taiwan freight calculated?
Freight is charged by the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Formula:
Volumetric weight (kg) = L(cm) ร W(cm) ร H(cm) รท 10000
Many providers use รท6000; HowBridge Logistics uses รท10000 for looser volumetric billing.

Do Taobao shipments need Taiwan import tax?
NT$2,000 exemption
Personal imports with a customs value within NT$2,000 are generally tax-exempt. If above the threshold, tax may apply:
- Import duty: depends on the CCC code and item category
- Business tax: 5%
- Promotional trade service fee: Duty-paid price ร 0.04% (exempt if tax does not reach NT$100)

6 times in half a year Rules and Regulations Basis
โ ๏ธ The "6 times per half-year" rule: If the same consignee has goods released duty-free more than 6 times within a half-year period (JanโJun / JulโDec), they are classified as a "frequent importer" โ from the 7th shipment onward, the NT$2,000 exemption no longer applies and the entire batch is taxed.

5 Taobao-to-Taiwan Pitfalls
1. BSMI-controlled goods
3C products (power banks, Bluetooth headphones, wireless adapters, LED lights) and other BSMI-regulated items will be rejected by customs without a "commodity inspection mark". Use our BSMI Lookup System to verify regulation status before consolidating your shipment.
2. Lithium batteries by air
Standalone batteries and built-in battery products may be rejected by air freight. Use sea freight when needed.
3. Excess food or medicine
Food, supplements, cosmetics and medicines have personal-use quantity limits. Excess items may be seized or returned.
4. Counterfeit goods
Counterfeit branded goods can be destroyed by customs without refund. Buy from authorized stores.
5. Unclear private forwarders
Avoid forwarders without company registration, clear invoices, support, insurance or parcel tracking.
