The limitation is delivery: most Tmall flagship stores accept only home delivery within mainland China, so the delivery address must be a consolidated shipping warehouse in China; once parcels arrive at the warehouse, the consolidation provider combines them and forwards them to Taiwan. How Is the NT$2,000 Duty-Free Threshold Calculated?
Under Taiwan Customs regulations, imports by individuals qualify for tax exemption when:
- The duty-paying value of a single shipment (merchandise + international shipping + insurance, CIF) is ≤ NT$2,000
- The recipient has had ≤ 6 tax-exempt shipments released within the same six-month period; the exemption does not apply from the 7th shipment onward, regardless of whether the supplier is the same
- The shipment does not contain tobacco or alcohol and does not include agricultural products subject to tariff quotas

- Meat, including pork, beef, lamb, chicken, and duck; fresh fruit and vegetables; live animals and plants
- Weapons, illegal drugs, and controlled knives
- Prescription drugs and medicines containing controlled ingredients. A doctor's prescription and quantity limits apply; medicines sent by mail additionally require prior approval and are limited to 2 shipments per year.
- Counterfeit goods, including infringing LV/Gucci products, which are confiscated under the Customs Anti-smuggling Act if detected

- Tobacco/alcohol → The NT$2,000 exemption does not apply, and customs duty and tobacco/alcohol tax are always imposed. You are then taken to the payment page for the method you chose. Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay are completed on the NewebPay page; choosing LINE Pay takes you to the LINE Pay payment page, where you simply confirm in the LINE app; choosing JKOPay takes you to the JKOPay payment page, where you confirm in the JKOPay app or scan the QR Code; choosing ATM transfer gives you a dedicated virtual account, bank code and payment deadline; choosing convenience-store code payment gives you a payment code to print the slip at a store kiosk and pay at the counter.
