Not getting notifications from the HowBridge app? iPhone and Android consolidation push troubleshooting guide
First make sure you are logged in to the app and have allowed notifications. If a working app is available, notifications go only to the app and are no longer sent on LINE; parcel-received and status notifications between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. are delayed and sent later.
After logging out, uninstalling and reinstalling, or switching phones, notifications resume only once you log in again on that phone and allow notifications. App push notifications have no limit of 3 per day (that is a LINE rule). If you turn off HowBridge notifications in your phone settings, the system has no way of knowing, and it will not automatically switch to LINE.
Last updated: 2026-09-24 | HowBridge’s notification rules reflect the current state of our notification service; the iPhone and Android settings paths come from Apple and Google official help (checked 2026-09-24). Menu names may differ by OS version and phone brand
Not getting notifications? Check these 3 things first
A HowBridge app notification only appears when three conditions are all met: this phone is logged in to the app, the system allows HowBridge to send notifications, and this notification is actually meant to reach the app at this time.
1This phone is logged in to the HowBridge app, and you tapped “Allow” when asked
Both the iPhone and Android versions ask whether to allow notifications only after you log in successfully; they do not ask when you first open the app before logging in. If you are not logged in, or you tapped “Don’t Allow” when asked, the server will not treat this phone as a push target, and notifications go to LINE or email instead.
2HowBridge notifications are turned on in your phone settings
On iPhone, check “Allow Notifications” under “Settings → Notifications → 好運器 (HowBridge)”; on Android, check “Settings → Notifications → App notifications → 好運器 HowBridge”. Focus, Do Not Disturb, Scheduled Summary and battery-saving settings can also delay or hide notifications; see the iPhone and Android steps below.
3The notification was not delayed or routed to another channel by HowBridge’s rules
Parcel-received, status-update, customs-release and delivered notifications between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. (Taipei time) are delayed and sent later; a few types such as packing quotes and unclaimed-parcel reminders are currently sent only on LINE and are not pushed to the app. Check HowBridge’s notification rules before suspecting your phone settings.
Rule out HowBridge’s own notification rules
Many “missing” notifications are actually the rules at work. HowBridge’s principle is to notify you only once about the same thing and to avoid disturbing you late at night:
| Rule | How it actually works | What you will notice |
|---|---|---|
| Single channel: app → LINE → email | Parcel received, shipment status update (including delivered), customs release, EZ WAY “declaration matches” reminder and points expiry reminder are sent in the order app push → LINE → email, only via the first channel that is available. If this phone is logged in and has allowed notifications, they are pushed only to the app. | After installing the app, you stop getting these types on LINE. This is by design, not a missed notification. |
| Quiet hours 22:00–08:00 (Taipei time) | Parcel received, shipment status update and parcel delivered are held during this period and sent after 8 a.m.; customs release is sent in the next check after quiet hours end (roughly one round every 4 hours). App, LINE and email are all held together. New bills and EZ WAY reminders are sent as usual. | No notifications in the middle of the night, then several arrive together in the morning. |
| Daily cap applies only to LINE | The LINE Official Account sends each person at most 3 proactive notifications per day; that is a rule of the LINE tier. App push itself has no daily cap. | The app will not stop sending just because you have already received several that day. |
| De-duplication and merging | The same status for the same parcel is notified only once within 30 days; several parcels received within a short time are merged into one “N parcels in total” notification; for the same type of notification, a newer one replaces the previous one you have not read (on iPhone, Notification Center simply shows the latest one). | A few notifications seem to be missing, or only the latest one is left. |
| Turning off notifications on your phone does not switch you to LINE | Whether an app push was “sent successfully” is reported by Apple’s or Google’s push service. When you turn off HowBridge notifications in your phone settings, the push service usually still reports success, so the system has no way of knowing you did not see it. | No app notification appears, and nothing arrives on LINE either. If you want to receive them on LINE, log out in the app. |
| Some notifications are sent only on LINE | Packing quote exceeds the base quote, value-added service completed, unclaimed warehouse parcel reminder, pre-alerted parcel arrived at the warehouse, and automatic consolidation waiting for item names are currently sent only via the LINE Official Account, not pushed to the app. | You will not see these types in the app; check LINE or the website. |
| New bills and customs hold alerts are pushed only to the app | New bills and customs hold alerts are pushed directly to devices that are logged in and have allowed notifications. They do not use the single channel and have no LINE or email fallback. | People without the app will not receive these two push types; check the bills page on the website or EZ WAY. |
| “Customs clearance” and “Out for delivery” shown as a Live Activity (iPhone) | On iPhones with Live Activities, these two statuses are shown by the Live Activity on the Lock Screen instead of a separate regular push, so the same event does not alert you twice. | You did not get a “Customs clearance” or “Out for delivery” push, but there is a progress bar on the Lock Screen. |
For the full channel comparison (who receives what, prerequisites, whether you can reply), see “LINE, App, Messenger, Email: which channel will consolidation notifications use?”.
Which notifications does the app push?
The iPhone/iPad and Android versions use the same set of notification events; the server sends them to Apple’s or Google’s push service depending on your device. The notifications currently pushed to the app are:
| Notification | When | iPhone / iPad | Android | 22:00–08:00 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Parcel received | When your courier parcel reaches the Shenzhen consolidation warehouse and is matched to your account; several parcels within a short time are merged into one | ✅ | ✅ | Held, sent in the morning |
| Shipment status update | When the shipment moves to “Packed”, “In Transit”, “Customs Clearance” or “Out for Delivery” | ✅ (on devices with Live Activities, “Customs Clearance” and “Out for Delivery” are shown by the Live Activity instead) | ✅ | Held, sent in the morning |
| Parcel signed for | When the carrier reports delivery | ✅ | ✅ | Held, sent in the morning |
| Customs release | When the system finds the release in its customs check | ✅ | ✅ | Held, sent in the next check |
| New bill | When a bill is issued for a shipment; the same bill is not repeated within 6 hours | ✅ | ✅ | Sent as usual |
| EZ WAY “declaration matches” reminder | Sent by customer service when you need to tap “declaration matches” in EZ WAY | ✅ | ✅ | Sent as usual |
| Customs hold alert | When a parcel enters customs clearance but you have not yet completed EZ WAY real-name verification | ✅ Sent as a “Time Sensitive” notification (on devices with Live Activities, the Live Activity switches to an alert instead) | ✅ (regular notification) | Sent as usual |
| Points expiry reminder | 30 days and 7 days before your points expire, sent in the morning | ✅ | ✅ | Not sent at night |
Differences from the LINE Official Account: parcel received, shipment status update (including delivered), customs release, EZ WAY “declaration matches” reminder and points expiry reminder use the same “app → LINE → email” single channel; new bills and customs hold alerts are currently pushed only to the app; packing quotes, value-added service completed, unclaimed warehouse parcels, pre-alerted parcel arrived and automatic consolidation waiting for item names are sent only on LINE. HowBridge currently has no per-notification delivery records for app push, so this page does not give an app push delivery rate.
iPhone / iPad troubleshooting steps
Check in order; after each step you can ask customer service or wait for the next notification to confirm. The app supports iOS 18 / iPadOS 18 or later.
1Log in to the app and tap “Allow” when asked about notifications
The HowBridge app shows the system notification prompt only after you log in successfully, not the first time you open it. The prompt appears only once; if you tapped “Don’t Allow” at the time, turn notifications on in system settings as described in step 2.
2Settings → Notifications → 好運器 (HowBridge): turn on “Allow Notifications”
According to Apple, open the Settings app, tap “Notifications”, then tap the app below “Notification Style” (on the iPhone it appears under its App Store name “好運器”) to turn “Allow Notifications” on or off, and under “Alerts” choose whether notifications appear on the Lock Screen, in Notification Center or as banners. We recommend ticking all three and turning on “Time Sensitive Notifications” so that customs hold alerts can arrive as time-sensitive notifications.
3If you use “Scheduled Summary”, switch to “Immediate Delivery”
Apple explains that when you use “Scheduled Summary”, you can choose “Immediate Delivery” or “Scheduled Summary” under the app’s “Notification Delivery”. If HowBridge is put into the summary, its notifications wait until the summary time and appear together.
4Check “Focus”: add HowBridge (HowBridge) to the allowed apps
A Focus temporarily silences notifications, or allows only notifications from specific people and apps. Go to “Settings → Focus”, tap the Focus you use (for example “Do Not Disturb”, “Sleep” or “Work”), and add HowBridge (HowBridge) to the allowed apps; or, when a notification does not arrive, first check in Control Center whether a Focus is on.
5Reopen the app once (stay logged in)
After turning on notifications in Settings, close the HowBridge app completely from the app switcher and open it again (no need to log out). When the app starts and already has notification permission, it registers this device with the server again.
Lock Screen Live Activities must be turned on in “Settings → 好運器 (HowBridge) → Live Activities”; home-screen widgets update only when you open the app. For how these work and how to troubleshoot them, see “HowBridge iPhone/iPad app guide: why am I not getting notifications?”.

Android troubleshooting steps
The HowBridge Android app is available on Google Play under the name “好運器 HowBridge” (developer: 好運器資訊有限公司) and supports Android 8.0 or later. Settings screens differ a lot between Android brands; the paths below follow Google’s official help.
1Install from Google Play and log in
Install from the “好運器 HowBridge” page on Google Play and check that the developer is 好運器資訊有限公司. Only after you log in does this phone become a push target.
2Android 13 or later: tap “Allow” in the prompt after logging in
According to Android’s official documentation, on Android 13 or later notifications from newly installed apps are off by default and appear only after the user agrees; if the user taps “Don’t allow”, the app cannot send notifications. HowBridge asks only after you actively log in, and only once; if you have tapped “Don’t allow”, turn notifications on in system settings as described in step 3. Android 12 and earlier have no such prompt; go straight to step 3.
3Settings → Notifications → App notifications → 好運器 HowBridge
According to Google, in the Settings app tap “Notifications”, then “App notifications”, choose 好運器 HowBridge and turn notifications on. The app’s notifications may be split into several categories; make sure the categories under it are all on (on a Chinese-language interface it usually appears as “貨態與帳單通知”), and set them to “Alerting” rather than “Silent” so that notifications make a sound and show in the notification shade; whether they also pop up at the top of the screen depends on the phone’s “Pop on screen” setting. Google also notes that settings may vary by phone.
4Turn off “Do Not Disturb”, or make HowBridge an exception
Android’s “Do Not Disturb” mode silences the phone; some brands also have their own focus or sleep modes. When a notification does not arrive, first check in Quick Settings whether such a mode is on, then add HowBridge to that mode’s exceptions (the path varies by brand).
5Battery and power-saving settings: leave HowBridge unrestricted
HowBridge pushes are sent as high-priority messages; according to Android’s official documentation, high-priority messages can still be delivered while the phone is in Doze. However, many brands have their own power-saving, background-management or auto-cleanup features that may block app notifications. Go to the phone’s “Battery” or “Power saving” settings and set 好運器 HowBridge to “Unrestricted” or “Don’t optimize”. The exact name and location vary by phone brand; if you cannot find it, refer to your phone maker’s help.
6Reopen the app once (stay logged in)
After turning on notifications in system settings, close the HowBridge app completely and open it again (no need to log out). When the app is logged in and has notification permission, it registers this device with the server again.
The HowBridge Android app is published only on Google Play. Installation files downloaded from other websites cannot be verified and may not receive push notifications, so please do not install them.
Settings paths based on Google “Control notifications on Android” and Android Developers “Notification runtime permission” and “Optimize for Doze and App Standby” (checked 2026-09-24). Google has no unified official steps for each brand’s power-saving settings, so this page only gives general guidance.
Why notifications stop after logging out, reinstalling or switching phones
Push notifications are tied to “this app on this phone”, not to your member account. Any of the following will make a phone stop receiving notifications:
| Situation | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Logging out in the app | When you log out, the app cancels this phone’s push registration with the server; later notifications go to LINE, then email. | To get app notifications back, just log in again; to receive them on LINE instead, stay logged out. |
| Uninstalling and reinstalling | The old push registration becomes invalid; once the push service reports this, the system automatically removes the device and switches to LINE or email. | After reinstalling, log in and tap “Allow” in the prompt. |
| Switching to a new phone | Push registration does not move to the new phone with your account. | Install the app on the new phone, log in and allow notifications. Log out on the old phone first if you will stop using it. |
| Using iPhone, iPad and Android at the same time | Every device logged in to the same account with notifications allowed receives them. | Log out on the device you do not want notifications on. |
| Notifications turned off in phone settings, but still logged in | The server still treats this phone as an available push target, so it will not switch to LINE. | Either turn notifications back on in settings, or log out in the app and receive them on LINE. |
Still nothing? Use LINE or check your shipment yourself
Notifications are only reminders; you can check your parcels’ progress yourself at any time:
- In the HowBridge app or the LINE Official Account (@0523tw), type “貨況” (shipment status) to check your current parcel progress.
- Log in to the website’s Consolidation Center to see the status of each parcel; for what each status means, see “Consolidation shipment tracking”.
- To receive notifications on LINE instead: log out in the app, and make sure LINE is linked to your membership and you have not blocked the official account. To troubleshoot on the LINE side, see “Why do I sometimes not get LINE notifications?”.
- For how to confirm “declaration matches” or complete real-name verification in EZ WAY, see “EZ WAY tutorial”; when customs clearance is held up, this step matters more than waiting for a notification.
- If you have tried everything and still receive nothing, please contact customer service and tell us your phone model, OS version, whether the app is logged in, and roughly which day and which type of notification you did not receive.
Glossary
- Push registration (push token)
- A device identifier the app obtains from Apple or Google after you allow notifications, and hands to the HowBridge server so it can send notifications to this phone. It becomes invalid or is cancelled after you log out, uninstall or switch phones.
- APNs
- Apple Push Notification service, Apple’s push service; HowBridge notifications to iPhone/iPad are delivered through it.
- FCM
- Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google’s push service; HowBridge notifications to Android phones are delivered through it.
- Time Sensitive Notifications
- An iOS notification level that can be turned on in notification settings when the app supports it. HowBridge uses it only for “customs hold, EZ WAY real-name verification needed”.
- Live Activities
- A continuously updated progress card on the iPhone Lock Screen (and in the Dynamic Island). HowBridge uses it to show progress from customs clearance to delivery; see “iPhone app guide”.
- Notification category
- Android lets apps group notifications, and users can set each group to “Alerting” or “Silent”, or turn it on or off. On a Chinese-language interface, the HowBridge app’s category usually appears as “貨態與帳單通知”.
- Doze
- Android’s power-saving mode when the phone has been idle for a long time; it pauses network and other background activity. According to the official documentation, high-priority FCM messages can still be delivered during Doze.
- Quiet hours
- From 22:00 to 08:00 Taipei time, HowBridge holds parcel received, shipment status update, customs release and parcel delivered notifications; received, status and delivered notifications are sent after 8 a.m., and customs release in the next check.
- Single channel
- HowBridge’s notification principle: the same event is sent in the order app → LINE → email, only via the first available channel.
