Paying Consolidated Shipping Fees with LINE Pay: Steps, Cancellation and Refunds
Yes. HowBridge consolidated shipping bills accept LINE Pay, listed first at the checkout, with no payment processing fee added. The bill amount you see is exactly what you pay.
You can pay logistics charges such as freight and delivery fees, as well as value-added service fees for photos, returns and points. For home-delivery shipments where you chose to have HowBridge pay the tax on your behalf, the tax and the NT$40 per-shipment tax-payment handling fee can also be paid with LINE Pay. Formal declaration charges can only be paid by bank transfer, and HowBridge does not handle payment for goods. Cancellations and refunds follow LINE Pay’s rules; credit card limits are usually restored within about 7 to 10 business days.

Can I pay HowBridge consolidated shipping fees with LINE Pay?
Yes. HowBridge collects payments under a direct contract with LINE Pay and has accepted LINE Pay as an official merchant since August 5, 2026. The checkout lists LINE Pay first regardless of the amount. You pay exactly the amount due on your bill, with no payment processing fee added—the checkout itself states: “We do not add any payment processing fee. The amount shown is exactly what you pay.”
Some consolidation companies state in their notices that paying with LINE Pay incurs an additional handling fee of NT$3 to NT$5 per kilogram. The HowBridge checkout amount is simply the sum of the charges on your bill; nothing is added based on the payment method. LINE Pay, JKOPay, credit cards, ATM transfer and the other methods among the 10 available all cost the same.
Excluding test orders of NT$50 or less (a small number of internal tests may remain), the HowBridge website completed 206 online payments. LINE Pay accounted for about 44%, the most-used method, and about 86% of LINE Pay payments were NT$1,000 or less. Figures come from HowBridge payment records, count successful payments only, and do not represent the number of users.
Which bills can LINE Pay pay?
What HowBridge collects online is the “freight service fee”—a charge for logistics services, not the price of goods. Here is what you can and cannot pay with LINE Pay:
| Charge | Payable with LINE Pay? | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Consolidated shipping bills | ✅ Yes | Logistics charges listed on the bill, such as international freight, domestic delivery, transfer, wooden crate and packing fees. |
| Value-added service fees | ✅ Yes | The parcel photo, parcel return and parcel points services each let you choose LINE Pay on their payment page. |
| Tax paid on your behalf and tax-payment handling fee | ✅ Yes (home delivery, non-formal declaration) | If you chose to have HowBridge pay the tax when submitting the consolidation order, the tax and freight are billed together only after customs assesses the tax, and you pay them in one go at the checkout. When the tax is greater than 0, a tax-payment handling fee of NT$40 per shipment applies. |
| Formal declaration charges | ❌ No | The declaration fee, tax paid on your behalf and tax-payment handling fee for a formal declaration can only be paid by bank transfer. The checkout shows a separate “Formal declaration · Bank transfer only” notice with the amount to transfer; freight on the same bill can still be paid with LINE Pay. |
| Payment for goods | ❌ No | Money for items bought on Taobao, Pinduoduo and similar platforms should be paid directly to the seller or platform. HowBridge does not collect payment for goods or pay sellers on your behalf. |
The tax itself is collected and passed on to the government, so it is not included in HowBridge’s e-invoice sales amount. The NT$40 per-shipment tax-payment handling fee is included in the same e-invoice as the freight, with the single item name “Consolidated shipping service fee.” The limit for a single online payment is NT$200,000; for larger amounts, please contact customer service.
LINE Pay payment steps (mobile, desktop)
After logging in to your HowBridge account, open the bill you want to pay from “My Bills” and tap “Online Payment” to open the checkout. The process has five steps:
1Open the bill and tap “Online Payment”
After logging in, go to My Bills, open an unpaid bill and tap “Online Payment” to enter the “Freight service fee settlement” checkout. Only the bill owner can open the checkout; if you are not logged in, you will be taken to the login page first.
2Choose LINE Pay and enter invoice details
Choose “LINE Pay,” the first payment method. For the e-invoice you can choose a mobile barcode, citizen digital certificate, company tax ID, donation or a paper certificate copy; tick “Remember my choice” to have it filled in automatically next time.
3Tick the boxes and tap “Confirm payment”
Read and tick the “Return / Refund Notice” and “Privacy Notice,” then tap “Confirm payment.” You will be redirected to the LINE Pay payment page. The item name shown there is “Freight service fee” plus the bill number, not a product name.
4Confirm the payment in LINE Pay
Mobile: according to LINE Pay’s official guide, LINE on the same phone opens the payment page automatically. Choose whether to use points and which card to pay with, check the final amount, verify your LINE Pay password and tap “Pay” once more. Desktop: the LINE Pay payment page usually shows a QR Code; scan it with LINE on your phone and confirm on the phone.
5Return to HowBridge and wait for the result
After you confirm, you return to HowBridge. The payment is complete only once HowBridge finishes capturing it with LINE Pay, and the screen shows “Payment successful. Your bill will be updated within a few seconds.” Please do not close the page before the result appears—LINE Pay also reminds users not to close the store page before the payment result appears.
The in-LINE steps in step 4 are summarized from the LINE Pay Help Center article on paying at online stores; button names may change as LINE updates its app.
LINE Pay official rules: cards, verification, limits
The following are LINE Pay’s own rules. They are not set by HowBridge, but they directly affect whether your payment goes through. Each one cites the LINE Pay Taiwan Help Center (viewed 2026-09-24):
Which cards you can link
The Help Center says you can link Visa, Mastercard and JCB credit or debit cards issued by any bank to LINE Pay. At online stores you can also pay from an iPASS MONEY account, but when paying with iPASS MONEY, “LINE POINTS or coupons cannot be used.”
3DS 2.0 verification may be required
LINE Pay states: “To keep transactions secure, LINE Pay randomly performs 3DS 2.0 verification when users make purchases, and the transaction can continue only after verification succeeds.” Possible reasons for failure include LINE not being the latest version, the card not supporting 3DS 2.0, or not receiving the one-time password (OTP). If it keeps failing, contact your card issuer.
You got a payment-complete notice, but the store says it did not go through
LINE Pay states: “Even if you have received a payment-complete notice from ‘LINE Wallet,’ factors such as a connection timeout or network congestion may still prevent the store’s device or page from properly receiving the payment-complete message.” LINE Pay asks users to “report it to the store immediately.” If this happens at HowBridge, the system will actively query LINE Pay and record the payment (see the troubleshooting table below).
Payment limit
The LINE Pay Help Center’s payment and card-linking guides do not list a uniform per-transaction limit for online store payments; what you can actually pay is limited by the credit limit of your linked card or the balance of your debit card account. On the HowBridge side, the limit for a single online payment is NT$200,000.
Cancellations and refunds: how HowBridge handles them and how long they take
The LINE Pay Help Center’s answer on cancelling a transaction is: “Please ask the store where you made the purchase whether it can be cancelled; the time required to cancel depends on the store’s rules.” So whether a refund is possible and how much is refunded depends on HowBridge’s rules; how long it takes to arrive afterwards depends on LINE Pay and your card issuer.
- Before the consolidated shipment is dispatched: while your parcels are still in the warehouse and not yet shipped, you can cancel and receive a full refund of the prepaid freight service fee.
- Dispatched, in transit or delivered: once the logistics service has started it cannot be stopped, so no refund is possible.
- Service faults: if a delay, loss or damage is caused by a HowBridge operational error, compensation or a refund will be agreed based on the actual circumstances.
- Refund channel: payments made with LINE Pay are refunded to LINE Pay via the original route. Full or partial refunds are possible, and the refund never exceeds the amount you paid.
1Contact customer service
There is currently no self-service refund button for members. Please make your request through the HowBridge official LINE account or the contact page, with your bill number and the reason.
2HowBridge verifies and refunds
Once customer service confirms the request meets the refund rules, HowBridge initiates the refund with LINE Pay, and the money goes back via the original route to the LINE Pay you paid with.
3You receive a “LINE Wallet” payment cancellation notice
LINE Pay explains that this notice “means the merchant has cancelled the transaction”; the acquiring bank and your card issuer still need to process it afterwards.
4Wait for your limit or balance to be restored
According to LINE Pay, credit card limits and debit card account balances are restored “usually within about 7 to 10 business days (the actual timing depends on the card issuer),” and “no exceptions are made because of urgent needs, high rewards on the card used, or similar reasons.”
How is the part paid with LINE POINTS refunded?
LINE Pay states: if the purchase was paid entirely with points, “points will be returned to you immediately according to the refund amount”; if paid partly with points, “the amount paid with the credit/debit card or iPASS MONEY account linked to LINE Pay is refunded first according to the refund amount, and then LINE POINTS are returned.” LINE Pay’s example: for a NT$1,000 purchase (NT$800 by card + 200 points), a NT$850 refund returns NT$800 to the card first and then 50 points; a NT$600 refund returns only NT$600 to the card and no points.
After a refund, HowBridge handles the related e-invoice: if the full amount is refunded within the same calendar month the invoice was issued, the original invoice is voided; for a partial refund, or a refund made in a later month, an allowance is issued.
Quotations are from the LINE Pay Help Center article on cancelling transactions (viewed 2026-09-24); HowBridge’s refund rules are the same as the “Return / Refund Notice (Freight Service)” on the bill page.
What to do if payment fails or the screen gets stuck
First, one principle: if you are not sure whether the payment went through, do not pay again yet. HowBridge payments work in two stages—you confirm in LINE Pay, then HowBridge captures the payment—and the system also has an automatic follow-up check. Common situations:
| Situation | Will I be charged? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You tapped Cancel on the LINE Pay page | No | You return to “My Bills” and the bill stays unpaid. You can tap “Online Payment” again and use LINE Pay or another method. |
| Back at HowBridge you see “Payment was not completed” | Depends on the LINE Pay result | The screen says “Payment was not completed. Please try again or use another payment method.” First check in LINE whether you received a payment-complete notice; if not, you can pay again. |
| LINE shows the payment as complete, but the bill is still unpaid | You may have been charged | LINE Pay explains this may be caused by a connection timeout. If a payment order is still unconfirmed 15 minutes after it was created, the HowBridge system queries LINE Pay for the actual status every 10 minutes and records the payment. If it has not updated after 30 minutes, contact customer service via the official LINE account with your bill number. |
| You closed the page or lost your connection mid-payment | Depends on whether LINE Pay completed it | Same as above: the system will query and record the payment. Please do not pay again right away. |
| Worried about being charged twice | — | When you start a new payment for the same bill, the system first voids the old unfinished payment order, so the same bill never has two payments in progress at once. |
| 3DS verification failed or card declined | No | Usually the card does not support 3DS 2.0, the OTP did not arrive, or the limit is insufficient. Contact your card issuer, switch to another card in LINE Pay, or go back to the checkout and choose a different payment method. |
| A tax amount is missing from the checkout | — | Formal declaration charges can only be paid by bank transfer, so they are not included in the online payment amount; the checkout shows the amount to transfer separately. Ask customer service on LINE for the bank account details. |
LINE Pay compared with other payment methods
The HowBridge website supports 10 online payment methods. They all cost the same with no payment processing fee added; the differences are how you pay, the amount range and how refunds work. Only a few common ones are listed below; for the full comparison see the overview of HowBridge’s 10 payment methods.
| Method | How to pay | Amount range | Posting | Refund method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LINE Pay | Confirm in LINE on your phone; scan a QR Code on desktop | HowBridge per-payment limit NT$200,000 | Instant after confirmation | Refunded to LINE Pay via the original route |
| JKOPay | Confirm in the JKOPay App | HowBridge per-payment limit NT$200,000 | Instant after confirmation | Refunded to JKOPay via the original route |
| Credit card / Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay | Pay by card on the NewebPay payment page or with a device wallet | HowBridge per-payment limit NT$200,000 | Instant after authorization | Refunded to the original card |
| ATM virtual account | Get a virtual account number, then transfer | Up to NT$49,999 | About 10 minutes to a few hours | Refunded by bank transfer |
| Convenience store payment code | Print a payment slip at the store kiosk and pay at the counter | NT$30–20,000 | About 10 minutes to a few hours | Refunded by transfer to an account you designate |
LINE Pay and JKOPay are processed directly by those payment providers; credit cards, device wallets, ATM and convenience store codes are collected by NewebPay. Amount ranges and posting times are based on the HowBridge checkout settings and payment page prompts.
How the e-invoice is issued after payment
After a successful LINE Pay payment, HowBridge automatically issues an e-invoice using the option you chose at the checkout: a mobile barcode or citizen digital certificate stores it in that carrier; a company tax ID produces a triplicate invoice; you can also donate it or choose a paper certificate copy (downloadable on the bill page). If the bill includes tax paid on your behalf, the tax itself is not included in the invoice; the NT$40 per-shipment tax-payment handling fee is included in the same invoice as the freight, with the single item name “Consolidated shipping service fee.” For invoice lookups, carriers and tax IDs, see the HowBridge e-invoice guide.
