Complete Guide to Consolidated Shipping for K-Pop Merchandise
HowBridge does not currently offer or operate any Korea-to-Taiwan freight forwarding, purchasing-agent, or payment-agent service. The service does not currently exist, and there is no usable Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse address, no official rates, and no guaranteed transit times. Any warehouse names, shipping fees, or transit times mentioned elsewhere on this page are general market information only and do not represent services offered by this website. They must not be used to fill in a shipping address or place an order. If this route becomes available in the future, only the official website announcement and the terms then in effect will apply.
Weverse Shop items can ship directly to Taiwan: you must first complete EZ WAY real-name verification, and from 3 February 2026 taxes are prepaid at checkout, with international shipping calculated by weight at checkout. Albums and other printed matter are mostly duty-free at 0%, while lightsticks carry roughly 5% duty plus 5% business tax; a duty-paying value of NT$2,000 or less is exempt, limited to 6 times per half-year. HowBridge only operates China-to-Taiwan consolidation and does not offer a Korea route.

Limited releases from the Korean entertainment companies (HYBE, SM, JYP, YG), lightsticks, photocard collecting and limited-edition albums all have to be obtained either through official direct shipping or through a Korean consolidation provider. This guide covers the five main platforms — Weverse Shop, Ktown4u, Music Korea and others — along with the import tax rules.
Why Use Consolidated Shipping for K-Pop Merchandise from Korea?
- Country-of-origin advantage: Korean entertainment company exclusives and simultaneous global product launches
- Buy at the official price: purchase directly at the official store's listed price (for example ARMY Bomb ver.4 is listed at KRW 44,545 excluding tax on the Korean Weverse site), with no proxy-buying service fee; the actual saving varies with the exchange rate and the release window
- Limited-edition albums: Weverse exclusives, Ktown4u exclusives, and Apple Music limited editions
- Pre-order Bonus: Pre-orders include Photocards, posters, and limited-edition gifts
- Photocard collecting: usually one random card per album (per the product announcement) — completing a set means buying more or trading with other fans
- Lightsticks: Essential for concerts and not sold in Taiwan

Pre-order System (Pre-order Bonus)
What Is a Pre-order Bonus?
Korean K-Pop albums and merchandise often open for pre-order before release (the window follows each product's official announcement, from a few weeks to several months) and ship out from the release date onward. Ordering during the pre-order period earns "pre-order exclusive gifts" (limited photocards, posters, stickers and so on) that are no longer available once general sales begin.
Pre-order Notes
- Pre-order window: as announced officially for each product (commonly opens several weeks before release)
- Payment: Payment is collected when the pre-order is placed
- Gifts: Vary by platform (Weverse / Ktown4u / SBS / Apple Music each offers exclusives)
- Quantity limits: Limited-edition gifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis
- Cancellation: Can be canceled before release on selected platforms
- Random PC: usually one random photocard per album (per the product announcement; retailer pre-order bonuses are counted separately) — trade with other fans to complete a set
Example: Pre-ordering a New BTS Album
- Monitor Weverse announcements (4 weeks before release)
- Pre-order from Ktown4u / SBS Mall at the same time (each offers different gifts)
- On the release date the items ship to the warehouse of the Korean consolidation provider you use (HowBridge has no Korea route)
- That provider consolidates and ships everything back to Taiwan (orders from several platforms in one shipment)
- Open the albums to discover which Photocards you received
Packaging Lightsticks and Photocards
- Lightsticks contain batteries: batteries built into or supplied with the device may travel by air but must be declared truthfully; loose lithium batteries and power banks are barred from passenger aircraft under IATA rules and most channels refuse them ("up to 100Wh is allowed" is a rule for passengers' cabin baggage and does not apply to posted parcels)
- Protect album Photocards from compression: Paper cards are prone to bent corners and must be reinforced with cardboard
- Limited-edition packaging boxes: Box corners are easily crushed, reducing their collectible value
- Liquid gifts: Some include perfume / skincare products (classification varies)
Practical Packaging Tips
- Protect Photocards: Top Loader (rigid card holder) + soft sleeve
- Keep the lightstick's original box: Retain the foam insert + add an outer shipping box
- Combine multiple album orders into one box: Prevent crushed corners
- Insure limited editions: add transport insurance for limited items under the declared-value or insurance rules of the provider you use
K-Pop Consolidated Shipping in 7 Steps
Choose a Platform + Pre-order
① HYBE artists → Weverse Shop ② SM artists → SM Town ③ Multiple companies → Ktown4u ④ Chart-eligible sales → SBS Mall
Confirm the Pre-order Bonus
① Gifts vary by platform ② Quantities are limited ③ Order 2-4 weeks in advance ④ Pre-order from multiple platforms to collect every gift
Choose a Korean consolidation provider's warehouse
① Consolidate several orders in one box to spread out the international shipping cost ② Have the goods received at the warehouse of the Korean consolidation provider you choose (HowBridge has no Korea route, so compare Korean providers yourself) ③ Arrange the shipment once everything has arrived at the warehouse
Warehouse Inspection + Outer Box
① Photograph everything for your records ② Put photocards in a top loader ③ Pack lightsticks in their original box inside an outer carton ④ Insure limited editions per your provider's rules
Choose EMS Air Shipping
① Ordinary albums and merch → air freight or EMS (transit times per the postal service and each provider's announcements) ② Lightsticks (with batteries) must be declared ③ For bulk purchases consider sea freight (slower; times per the provider's announcements)
File an EZWay Declaration
① Select the category "Personal collection / toys" + declare the value ② Declare lightsticks as "products containing lithium batteries" ③ See the EZWay tutorial for details.
Customs Clearance + Delivery
According to the Customs Administration's open data on the "Customs Import Tariff", albums and printed matter are mostly duty-free at 0% (headings 8523.49/4911), while lightsticks fall under portable electric lamps at about 5% (heading 8513; light-up toy-type products may in individual cases be classified elsewhere, and the actual classification is decided by customs valuation). Business tax is then levied at (duty-paying value + duty) × 5%; a duty-paying value ≤ NT$2,000 is exempt (Article 49 of the Customs Act, limited to 6 times per half-year for the same taxpayer). Under Article 2 of the Regulations Governing the Inspection of Import and Export Goods, customs works on a sampling basis and may inspect everything where necessary. Tariff rates can be looked up on the Government Open Data Platform.
What do Weverse shipping statuses mean? (Order tracking terms)
Preparing for shipment
A common status in Weverse Shop order tracking; it generally means the order has been placed and the goods are still being picked and packed at the warehouse, not yet handed to the carrier. Pre-order items usually stay in this status until the official release date.
Moving to HUB centre
This generally means the parcel has left the seller's warehouse and is on its way to the logistics transfer centre (HUB); international transport and Taiwanese delivery information usually appear only after this stage. If the status has not changed for several days, ask Weverse Shop customer service about the order.
EZ WAY
The customs real-name verification app for recipients in Taiwan. Per the Weverse Shop official notice (2025-04-02): every customer with a Taiwanese delivery address must complete EZ WAY real-name verification and register their mobile number before delivery; if the name or phone number does not match the order, the shipment may fail to clear customs or be delayed.
