How Do You Buy from Korea and Ship to Taiwan? An Item-by-Item Pre-Purchase Due-Diligence Guide

Korea Route in Preparation — Not Yet Available

HowBridge does not currently offer or operate any Korea-to-Taiwan freight forwarding, purchasing-agent, or payment-agent service. The service does not currently exist, and there is no usable Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse address, no official rates, and no guaranteed transit times. Any warehouse names, shipping fees, or transit times mentioned elsewhere on this page are general market information only and do not represent services offered by this website. They must not be used to fill in a shipping address or place an order. If this route becomes available in the future, only the official website announcement and the terms then in effect will apply.

Quick Answer

This page does not provide a service quote; laws and import requirements are subject to current notices from the competent authorities

What Conditions Should You Confirm Before Ordering?

Delivery, payment, language, inventory, and return conditions on Korean websites vary by platform, seller, product, account, and date. Before ordering, verify at least the following for every item:

Payment eligibilityOn the actual checkout page, confirm accepted card types, verification methods, transaction currency, and overseas fees charged by the card issuer. Do not generalize from the platform name.
Delivery areaEnter a Taiwan address on the product and checkout pages to confirm whether that product, seller, and specific order can be shipped directly to Taiwan.
Page informationVerify product specifications, the seller, the return address, and customer-service languages; machine translation is not a substitute for formal terms.
Inventory and preordersFor limited products, purchase eligibility, quantity, payment timing, and the shipping date are governed by the relevant campaign page and order.

Neutral Approach

First compare direct shipping to Taiwan from the seller. If it is unavailable, obtain written terms and an item-by-item quote from a third-party operator that has actually opened such a route, and confirm its real warehouse address, payment responsibility, prohibited and restricted goods, insurance, customs declaration, and return arrangements. HowBridge currently has no Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse and does not provide Korean proxy buying, payment, limited-time purchasing, or customer-service commitments.

Due Diligence for 4 Types of Korean Shopping Platforms

1Coupang(쿠팡)

On the individual product and checkout pages, first verify the seller, delivery address, estimated shipping date, membership conditions, payment method, return rules, and product documentation. The scope of labels such as Rocket/Wow varies by order and cannot support any promise about domestic Korean transit time, authenticity, or forwarding eligibility.

2Gmarket(지마켓)

Language options, international card acceptance, and overseas delivery availability must be confirmed from the current product, seller, account, and checkout result. When comparing options, verify the product model, seller information, total delivered cost, cancellation/return terms, and actual shipping method.

311Street(11번가)

Do not assume that a particular card, language, discount, or product category will be available. On the actual checkout page, confirm payment verification, the destination country, and discount eligibility, and verify the appliance model, certification, warranty territory, and responsibility for returns.

4K-Beauty/K-Pop brand or retail websites(such as OliveYoung、KTOWN4U、Weverse Shop)

A website or store name is not a substitute for item-by-item due diligence. Before buying, verify the domain and seller, proof of product authorization or source, version, inventory/preorder rules, payment, delivery area, returns and exchanges, and customer-service terms. Whether an item ships directly to Taiwan is determined by the checkout page.

4-Step General Due-Diligence Process

⚠️ The HowBridge Korea route has not opened; the following is a general due-diligence process for direct shipping by sellers or for other third-party services whose routes have actually opened.

1

First test whether the seller ships directly to Taiwan

Enter a Taiwan address on the actual product and checkout pages to confirm the seller, payment, delivery, prepaid taxes and duties, returns, and estimated shipping information. Do not rely only on a platform home page or past orders.

2

Verify the actual details of a third-party operator

If the seller does not ship directly, obtain the formal warehouse address, recipient format, payment responsibility, service terms, and item-by-item quote from an operator whose route has opened. Do not enter a warehouse address that has not been officially published. Whether international cards can be used on each platform remains subject to the checkout result.

3

Confirm acceptance and pricing item by item

Before ordering, give the operator the product name, quantity, dimensions/weight, and details of any battery, liquid, food, or other special characteristics. Obtain written confirmation of whether it will accept the item, billable weight, consolidation/packing, insurance, surcharges, estimated transit time, and responsibility for delays. Do not apply fixed-day or lowest-price assumptions.

4

Customs clearance + EZ WAY confirmation + delivery

Prepare the product name, quantity, value, invoice, and any required permits based on the actual shipping and customs arrangements. If real-name authentication is required, complete EZ WAY confirmation only after receiving the relevant notice. Customs and other competent authorities determine release, taxation, or requests for additional documents case by case.

For details about real-name authentication, see the complete EZ WAY tutorial.

K-Beauty Cosmetics

Whether cosmetics can be shipped and imported must be confirmed item by item based on the actual product, ingredients, quantity, purpose, carrier terms, and Taiwan regulations. Do not treat a brand, product name, or past clearance experience as a general rule.

1. Check Taiwan import requirements first

Use the current requirements of Taiwan FDA (MOHW) and customs to verify product classification, ingredients, labeling, quantity, and personal/commercial use. There is no fixed safe item count that applies to all cosmetics; the competent authorities decide inspection and import approval case by case.

2. Verify the product and seller

The same brand may have different sizes, formulas, batches, or market versions. Verify the full ingredient list, expiration date, seller and proof of source, invoice, return terms, and checkout total. Do not infer authenticity, price differences, or import eligibility from the fact that it is a popular brand.

3. Products such as sunscreen require individual classification

Do not determine the regulatory classification in Taiwan solely from the Korean product name. Before buying, check the current Taiwan FDA (MOHW) information using the complete product name, intended use, and ingredients. Then ask the carrier to confirm shipping conditions for liquids, sprays, alcohol, pressure vessels, and similar items.

See the complete guide to consolidating cosmetics for Taiwan.

K-Pop Merchandise, Albums, and Fan Support Items

Versions, sellers, preorders, batteries, and authorization information vary significantly among K-Pop albums and merchandise. Verify the following against the individual product page, order, and competent-authority requirements:

Albums(CD/photo books)

Confirm the version, contents, seller, proof of authorization or source, invoice, quantity, and declared value. Duty exemption, inspection, and commercial status cannot be inferred solely from unit price, number of versions, or shipment splitting; they are governed by current customs rules and case-specific determinations.

Fan lights、Light Stick

First confirm the model, electrical specifications, whether a battery is included, and the battery type; then check whether that model falls within the scope of products subject to BSMI inspection. Air or sea transport eligibility depends on battery specifications, packaging, airline/carrier dangerous-goods terms, and required documents. It cannot be generalized as always shippable or always prohibited from air transport.

Limited Photocard、Polaroid

Verify the real seller, version, condition, proof of transaction, and declared value. If insurance is needed, first confirm whether the operator covers collectibles, the compensation limit, and the required documents; then compare the shipping options that are actually available.

Fan apparel and official merchandise

A website or store name does not mean that every product is necessarily authorized. Verify sales channels and product authorization using brand announcements or rights-holder information, and retain the product page, seller information, order, and invoice. Do not order if the source is unclear or the labeling is inconsistent.

Key Checks for 7 Korean Product Categories

1K-Beauty cosmetics

For masks, serums, base makeup, sunscreen, and similar products, verify the size, formula, expiration date, seller, Taiwan import requirements, and carrier restrictions item by item. Compare the actual checkout price on the same date plus exchange rates, shipping, taxes and duties, and return costs; do not assume a fixed saving.

2K-Pop albums and merchandise

For limited editions, fan lights, Photocard, Lightstick, apparel, and fan support kits, separately confirm the seller, version, authorization, preorder/cancellation terms, battery, declaration, and carrier requirements.

3Korean apparel

Choose based on the actual product measurements in centimeters, material, cut, care label, and return and exchange terms. Compare total checkout costs for the same item number and date; do not generalize a fixed price difference by country or brand.

4Korean food

First obtain complete information about ingredients, manufacturing method, storage conditions, and packaging. Then check quarantine/import requirements with the competent agriculture, food and drug, and customs authorities, and obtain written confirmation from the carrier on whether it will accept the item. Do not make your own determination solely from the word food or a reference to meat.

5Infant and toddler products

Based on the product type, verify the age range, material, structure, warnings, model, and Taiwan inspection requirements. Before buying, also confirm recall information, warranty territory, spare parts, and return arrangements.

6Stationery and designer products

Confirm the material, intended age, proof of authorization or source, seller, and Taiwan inspection/labeling requirements. Different rules may apply to products for children and general collectibles, so verify the specific model.

7Korean appliances(Cuckoo、LG、Samsung accessories)

Examples include Cuckoo rice cookers, LG cosmetics refrigerators, and Samsung facial steamers. Before importing, check whether the model is subject to BSMI inspection. A Korean 220V appliance must not be plugged directly into a standard Taiwan 110V outlet, and voltage alone is not enough to select a transformer.

For food, also see the guide to consolidating food for shipment to Taiwan; for the scope of inspection, see the list of products subject to BSMI inspection.

Can Korean 220V Appliances Be Used in Taiwan?

The supply terms of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) list 220V and 60Hz. Alternating current in Taiwan is also 60Hz, with supply methods including 110V, 110/220V, and 220V. But the fact that both places have 220V/60Hz does not mean that every Korean appliance can be used directly in Taiwan; always rely on the nameplate and manufacturer instructions for the specific model.

The Bottom Line

An appliance whose nameplate states only 220V must not be plugged into a standard Taiwan 110V outlet. Even if a building has a 220V supply, confirm that the outlet is on a compliant dedicated circuit and verify individually that the model accepts 60Hz, its rated and startup power, current, plug, and grounding specifications. Do not attempt to plug it in if any one of these points remains unconfirmed.

5 Checks Before Buying and Forwarding

1

INPUT voltage and Hz

Check whether the nameplate says 220V only, specifies a range, or says 100–240V. It must explicitly state that 60Hz is accepted.

2

Rated and startup power

Heating appliances such as rice cookers and electric kettles are high continuous loads. Refrigerators, motors, and compressors also have startup surges, so equipment must not be selected using average wattage alone.

3

Current and circuit

A standard Taiwan 110V outlet is not a 220V power source. If 220V is needed, have a qualified electrician confirm the dedicated circuit, circuit breaker, wire gauge, and capacity.

4

Plug and grounding

An adapter changes only the physical shape; it does not change voltage or frequency. Do not remove grounding or substitute a noncompliant adapter strip for a dedicated circuit.

5

A transformer is not a universal solution

An ordinary step-up or step-down transformer changes voltage only; it does not convert 50Hz to 60Hz. If stepping up from 110V is being considered, select equipment based on continuous load, startup surge, heat dissipation, overload protection, and circuit current. There is no fixed price or universally applicable specification.

For high-power, motor-driven, compressor-based, heating, or long-running equipment, follow the manufacturer manual and obtain an assessment from a qualified electrician. Guidance from the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) on voltage regulators includes keeping the load within the safe power rating, connecting only one appliance, not using extension cords, avoiding prolonged use, and choosing overload protection. For other voltage situations, see the 220V/50Hz appliance voltage and BSMI guide for Taiwan.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HowBridge Korea route has not opened. HowBridge currently has no usable Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse, no official rates, no guaranteed transit time, and no proxy buying, payment, or limited-time purchasing services. The following provides neutral pre-purchase due-diligence guidance only.

Can Coupang Rocket deliveries be consolidated?
This cannot be determined from the Rocket label alone. On the actual product and checkout pages, confirm whether the seller accepts the designated Korean address, along with payment methods and delivery and return terms. If using another third-party operator whose route has opened, also obtain its real warehouse address, recipient rules, and an item-by-item quote. HowBridge currently has no Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse and cannot promise transit times within Korea or to Taiwan.
What if I cannot secure a limited K-Pop item?
First use the campaign page to confirm purchase eligibility, sale time, quantity limit, payment, cancellation, and shipping terms. If a third-party proxy buyer is needed, obtain written terms covering the operator identity, service scope, fees, refunds, and handling of unsuccessful purchases before paying. HowBridge currently has no Korean limited-time purchasing, proxy-buying, or Korea-based team service and makes no promise about success rates or service fees.
How much cheaper are Korean cosmetics than in Taiwan?
No fixed saving applies to every brand or promotion. Compare actual checkout prices for the same brand, item number, size, formula, and date, including exchange rates, domestic Korean shipping, international shipping, taxes and duties, payment fees, and return costs. Also verify the seller, source, expiration date, and Taiwan import requirements.
How do I convert Korean clothing sizes?
There is no fixed conversion for every Korean brand, and buying one size larger is not a universal rule. Use the centimeter size chart on the product page to check shoulder width, chest width, waist, length, and fabric stretch; then confirm the measurement method, model information, and return and exchange terms. Ask the seller directly if the information is insufficient.
Can Korean alcohol(such as soju)be consolidated?
A fixed volume in liters or alcohol concentration cannot be used to make a general determination about safety, duty exemption, or air-transport eligibility. Before buying, check quantity, alcohol concentration, taxes and duties, age, and import requirements under the current rules of the Customs Administration, MOF and other competent authorities. Give the airline or carrier the container, volume, concentration, and packaging details and obtain written confirmation of acceptance and required documents.
Can Korean 220V appliances be used in Taiwan?
Korean appliances commonly use 220V/60Hz, but the nameplate and manufacturer instructions for the specific model control. An appliance labeled for 220V only must not be plugged into a standard Taiwan 110V outlet. Even if a building has a dedicated 220V circuit, confirm that the equipment accepts 60Hz and verify rated and startup power, current, plug, grounding, and circuit capacity. If a step-up transformer is being considered, select it for the continuous load and startup surge. An ordinary transformer changes voltage only, not 50/60Hz, and suitability cannot be determined from a fixed price or a universal rule. Have a qualified electrician assess high-power, motor-driven, or heating appliances against manufacturer specifications.
