Korean Fashion Forwarding Guide: Shipping Musinsa and W Concept Orders to Taiwan

Korea Route in Preparation — Not Yet Available

HowBridge does not currently offer or operate any Korea-to-Taiwan freight forwarding, purchasing-agent, or payment-agent service. The service does not currently exist, and there is no usable Korean, Seoul, or Incheon warehouse address, no official rates, and no guaranteed transit times. Any warehouse names, shipping fees, or transit times mentioned elsewhere on this page are general market information only and do not represent services offered by this website. They must not be used to fill in a shipping address or place an order. If this route becomes available in the future, only the official website announcement and the terms then in effect will apply.

How Can You Shop on Musinsa from Taiwan, and Does Musinsa Ship to Taiwan?
The short answer: Yes. There are two ways to get Musinsa items to Taiwan: ① The Musinsa Global Taiwan site (global.musinsa.com/tw) ships directly to Taiwan and, in Taiwan, accepts Visa/Mastercard/JCB credit and debit cards as well as PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay (announced by the official Help Center). It is the simplest option, but it carries fewer items than the Korean site. ② The Musinsa Korean site (musinsa.com) has the most complete selection of 1500+ brands and limited-edition collaborations, but it is built around delivery within Korea and checkout in Korean won, so overseas customers first need an address within Korea to receive their purchases before consolidating and forwarding them to Taiwan. Before ordering, use the Free Size size chart (experience-based reference values) below to choose your size. On the import side, a single shipment with a duty-paying value (CIF) of ≤ NT$2,000 is exempt from import duty and business tax (VAT) (limited to 6 shipments per person within any half-year period). ⚠️ HowBridge has not opened a Korea route yet. For forwarding, please contact an operator that has opened one.

Musinsa (무신사) is a major Korean online fashion shopping platform. Korean brands such as Mardi Mercredi, Ader Error, GENTLE MONSTER, TAMBURINS, Stylenanda, and 8 Seconds can be bought on platforms such as Musinsa and W Concept or from each brand's official site. The same item is often priced differently on Korean official sites and through Taiwan retailers, but for how big the difference actually is, work it out yourself from the current listed price + shipping + Taiwan import taxes and fees on both sites rather than relying on a fixed percentage. This guide covers 8 major Korean brands, 4 major shopping platforms, a Free Size conversion chart (experience-based reference values), and return, exchange, and tax rules. On the import side, the rules for import duty on clothing and the tax-free threshold apply no matter where the goods come from. Free Size Conversion Chart

Most Korean clothing is labeled Free Size (One Size Fits All). The conversions below are market-experience reference values, not an official standard; fits vary widely between brands, so go by the "actual measurements (cm)" on each product page:

Korean SizeBust (cm)Waist (cm)Recommended WeightTaiwan Equivalent

Brand-Specific Fit

💡 Always check the actual garment measurements before ordering — Product pages list the actual Bust / Waist / Length in centimeters, which is more reliable than the Size Tag or any conversion chart. The safest approach is to order the same item in 2 sizes (M + L) so you can compare them, then keep the one that fits and return the other (see the returns and exchanges section above for cross-border return limits).

Returns, Exchanges, and Try-On Confirmation

Returns and exchanges for Korean online shopping depend on each platform's official policy (the key points below were verified against official pages in 2026-08). What they have in common: cross-border returns require you to pay international shipping yourself and the original international shipping is usually non-refundable, so the amount you actually get back is often well below the item price:

Forwarding Operators' "Try-On Confirmation" Value-Added Service (Market Practice)

Sizing is the biggest risk when buying Korean clothing from overseas. One common approach is to buy the same item in 2 sizes, have them consolidated at an address within Korea, and then forward them after confirmation. Some forwarding operators offer an optional unboxing and try-on confirmation service (fees vary by operator):

  1. The customer orders the same item in 2 sizes (M + L)
  2. Send the items to an address within Korea for consolidation
  3. The operator's customer service photographs the items and measures their actual dimensions for the customer to review
  4. The customer decides which item to keep and which to return
  5. The unsuitable item can be returned locally in Korea for a refund
  6. The suitable item continues to Taiwan by ocean shipping
⚠️ HowBridge does not provide any Korea service — including receiving parcels in Korea, forwarding, and try-on confirmation. This section describes market practices offered by some Korean forwarding operators; whether such a service is available, and its fees and rules, must be confirmed with each operator. Also note that for high-value designer brands (Ader Error / GENTLE MONSTER, etc.) most seller policies do not accept change-of-mind returns and cross-border returns are complicated, so before ordering it is best to check actual measurements and outfit photos of the same style on PTT / Dcard.
📌 Only discovered that an item does not fit after it entered Taiwan, or fell victim to online shopping fraud? There are two official remedies: (1) Under Article 51 of the Customs Act, when imported goods are subject to compensation or replacement, you may file the "Application for Duty Exemption on Compensated or Replaced Personal Cross-Border Online Shopping Imports" with Customs within 1 month from the day after the original goods were released for import; once the circumstances are verified, replacement goods or goods imported as compensation are exempt from import duty. (2) Victims of online shopping fraud may apply for a refund of overpaid taxes under Article 17 Paragraph 5 of the Customs Act — the application must be filed within 6 months from the day after the goods are released, attaching the transaction documents, proof of taxation, proof of the original goods, and the police case acceptance (handling) certificate. If the correction is approved, that shipment valued at NT$2,000 or less does not count toward the 6 tax-exempt entries per half-year period, and the NT$100 declaration amendment processing fee is waived. Keep your transaction and return or exchange records when applying.

10% Tax Refund and Import Taxes

Korean Consumption Tax: 10%

Korea's value-added tax (VAT) rate is 10% (Article 30 of Korea's Value-Added Tax Act). Online purchases sent to an address within Korea are treated as domestic sales, so the system does not deduct that 10%. There are two situations in which you can get it back:

  1. Purchase from a physical store while traveling — Under the current rules of the Korea Tourism Organization (VisitKorea), you can claim a tax refund with your passport on a single purchase of KRW 15,000 or more; for an immediate in-store refund, a single purchase must be at least 15,000 and below KRW 1,000,000, with a cap of KRW 5,000,000 for the entire trip. What is refunded is the 10% VAT included in the retail price (about 1/11 of the price), and the amount you actually receive is somewhat lower after the refund agency deducts its processing fee
  2. Tax-free direct shipping from selected official international sites — For orders shipped directly overseas, the price is calculated without Korean VAT at checkout; whether it applies and how much is deducted is determined by what each official site's checkout page actually shows

Taiwan Import Taxes

ProductTariff CodeImport DutyTotal After Adding 5% Business Tax (VAT)
Clothing (Knitted T-shirts / Tops)6109 / 611010.5%–12% (depending on material)≈ 16%–17.6%
Clothing (Woven Dresses / Pants / Coats)6202–6204Approximately 12%≈ 17.6%

Sunglasses9004.105%≈ 10.25%
Perfume3303.000%Only 5% business tax (VAT)
Note: Even among T-shirts, cotton (6109.10) carries a 10.5% import duty while man-made fiber (6109.90) carries 12% — the polyester fabrics common in Korean fast fashion mostly fall under 12%; the actual rate depends on how Customs classifies the goods under the tariff. The rates in the table were verified against the Taiwan Customs Administration's "Customs Import Tariff" open data (Taiwan's open data platform, dataset 80871; verified 2026-08-17).

Tax-free threshold: CIF ≤ NT$2,000 (Article 49 of the Customs Act): imported goods in the same shipment with a duty-paying value of NT$2,000 or less are exempt from import duty and from the business tax (VAT) and commodity tax collected by Customs on behalf of the tax authority (tobacco, alcohol, and agricultural products subject to tariff quotas excepted). Note that the "half-year period" runs on a fixed calendar cycle — January–June and July–December each form one period and the count restarts at the beginning of each period, rather than running 6 months from your first import; once the same taxpayer has had more than 6 duty-free releases within a half-year period, the exemption no longer applies.

📊 HowBridge tariff database statistics (clothing): In our database, which is maintained in sync with the Taiwan Customs Administration tariff, Chapter 61 (knitted) contains 195 tariff lines and Chapter 62 (woven) contains 169 tariff lines, 364 in total. Of these, 299 (82%) carry a statutory duty rate of 12%, 62 carry 10.5%, and 3 carry 11.5% — in other words, whatever the material, duty on clothing falls almost entirely within the narrow 10.5%–12% band, a spread of at most 1.5 percentage points (statistics queried 2026-08-17). For an individual item, confirm the figure with our import tax calculator.
📌 In short: to ship Korean clothing to Taiwan tax-free, keep each shipment's CIF value within NT$2,000 and limit each person to no more than 6 shipments within any half-year period; above the threshold, the tax burden on clothing is roughly 16%–17.6% of the duty-paying value.
How it is calculated: the duty-paying value (CIF) = product price + international shipping + insurance. Under Article 20 of the Value-Added and Non-Value-Added Business Tax Act, business tax on imported goods is levied at 5% on the sum of the duty-paying value and the import duty — which is why a 12% import duty produces a combined tax burden of 1.12 × 1.05 − 1 ≈ 17.6% rather than 17%, and why perfume, at 0% duty, still bears business tax of 5% of the duty-paying value. The tax-free threshold and the 6-times-per-half-year limit come from Article 49 of the Customs Act and Taiwan's Ministry of Finance notice "Overseas Online Shopping Is Easy, but Watch Out for Frequent Imports."
📅 Last updated: 2026-08-17; rates verified against the Taiwan Customs Administration's "Customs Import Tariff" open data (dataset 80871), verified 2026-08-17.

How Do You Estimate Shipping Costs from Korea to Taiwan, and What Shipping Methods Are There? (A Summary of Market Practice; Our Korea Route Is Not Open Yet)

⚠️ The table above provides market reference rates, not a quote from HowBridge—HowBridge has not opened a Korea route yet. For actual costs, request a per-item quote from a forwarding operator that has opened one. In general, consolidated sea freight is more cost-effective for Korean clothing, while air freight EMS with insurance is recommended for high-value designer brands (Ader Error / GENTLE MONSTER). Import taxes and fees in Taiwan are still calculated according to Customs Administration regulations. Use our import tax calculator for an estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Musinsa ship to Taiwan, and can I use a Taiwan-issued credit card?
Yes, it can be shipped to Taiwan in two ways: (1) Musinsa Global Taiwan site (global.musinsa.com/tw) — ships directly to Taiwan; in Taiwan it accepts Visa/Mastercard/JCB credit and debit cards as well as PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay (announced by the official Help Center), and last-mile delivery in Taiwan is handled by DPEX. It is the most convenient option because no forwarding is required, but it carries fewer items than the Korean site. (2) Musinsa Korean site (musinsa.com) — offers the most complete selection of brands and limited-edition collaborations, but it is built around delivery within Korea and checkout in Korean won, so overseas customers need a forwarding operator's address within Korea to receive and consolidate their purchases before sending them to Taiwan. HowBridge has not opened a Korea route yet. Please contact an operator that has opened one to obtain that operator's warehouse address and quote.
Which is cheapest: Musinsa, W Concept, or Stylenanda?
(1) Musinsa — Korea's largest online fashion retailer, featuring 1500+ brands and the affordable in-house label Musinsa Standard. Ideal for everyday purchases. (2) W Concept — Specializes in high-end designer brands such as We11done / Andersson Bell / KUHO / Pushbutton. Prices are higher, but international support is more extensive. (3) Stylenanda — Offers affordable, feminine styles from its own brands, including 3CE beauty products + clothing. (4) 8 Seconds — Affordable Korean SPA fast fashion similar to Uniqlo. (5) Coupang — Offers all brands + next-day Rocket Delivery to the warehouse. Recommendation: Musinsa has the widest everyday selection; choose W Concept for designer brands and 8 Seconds for affordable fast fashion.
How should I choose Free Size Korean clothing, and how do Taiwan and Korean sizes compare?
The following are market-experience reference values, not an official standard, and fits vary widely between brands: Most Korean clothing is labeled Free Size (One Size Fits All), which commonly corresponds to Taiwan sizes S-M, with a bust of 92-100 cm / waist of 64-72 cm. Conversions: Korean S (90) ≈ Taiwan XS; M (95) ≈ S-M; L (100) ≈ M-L; XL (105) ≈ L-XL. Brand deviations: Stylenanda / Mardi Mercredi run small, Ader Error's Oversize styles run large, and Musinsa Standard / 8 Seconds are true to size. Ultimately, go by the actual measurements (Bust / Waist / Length in centimeters) shown on each product page, which are more reliable than the Size Tag or any conversion chart.
Where can I get the best prices on designer brands such as Ader Error, GENTLE MONSTER, and TAMBURINS?
Where to buy the designer brands: (1) Ader Error — the brand's official site (adererror.com) or W Concept; (2) GENTLE MONSTER — the brand's official site (gentlemonster.com) or Musinsa; (3) TAMBURINS — the brand's official site or Olive Young; (4) Pushbutton / Andersson Bell — W Concept (seasonal promotional discounts are common); (5) Mardi Mercredi — Musinsa. The same item is often priced differently on Korean official sites and through Taiwan retailers, but the gap moves with exchange rates and promotional periods, so work it out yourself from the current listed price + shipping + Taiwan import taxes and fees on both sites. Forwarding costs and transit times back to Taiwan depend on the quote and schedule of whichever operator you choose.
How do returns and exchanges work for Korean clothing, and what if an ocean shipment does not fit?
Based on each platform's official policy (verified 2026-08): (1) For Musinsa Global international orders, only defective, damaged, or incorrectly shipped items can be returned, and the request must be filed within 7 days of receiving the goods — "returns within 7 days without reason" is a right granted by Article 17 of Korea's Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce for online purchases within Korea, and it does not apply to cross-border orders; (2) The Stylenanda official English site does accept international returns and exchanges: contact customer service within 14 days of receiving the goods, with return shipping at your own expense for change-of-mind returns; (3) Coupang's 30-day return window applies only to Rocket Delivery items, while third-party sellers and overseas direct purchases allow 7 days, and the service is limited to addresses within Korea. Cross-border returns require you to pay international shipping yourself, and the original international shipping is usually non-refundable, so the amount you actually get back is often well below the item price. Practical advice: check the "actual measurements" and reviews before ordering; buy the same item in 2 sizes so you can swap them; and, if your forwarding operator offers an unboxing and try-on confirmation service, confirm the fit before deciding how many items to send to Taiwan (HowBridge does not provide any Korea service).
Can I get the 10% Korean tax refund on clothing, and can it be deducted directly from an online order?
Korea's VAT is 10% (Article 30 of Korea's Value-Added Tax Act). Online purchases sent to an address within Korea are treated as domestic sales, so the system does not deduct it. There are 2 ways to get it back: (1) In-store purchases made while traveling — under the current rules of the Korea Tourism Organization (VisitKorea), you can claim a refund with your passport on a single purchase of KRW 15,000 or more; for immediate in-store refunds, a single purchase must be at least 15,000 and below KRW 1,000,000, with a cap of KRW 5,000,000 for the whole trip. Airport refund procedure: do not check in the refundable goods → have Customs inspect them → collect the refund at a refund counter or kiosk. What is refunded is the VAT included in the retail price (about 1/11 of the price), and refund agencies deduct a processing fee. (2) Tax-free direct shipping from selected official international sites — orders shipped directly overseas are calculated without Korean VAT at checkout; what each official site's checkout page shows is authoritative.
Do I have to pay import duty on Korean clothing, shoes, and accessories?
Rates vary by product (based on the Taiwan Customs Administration's Customs Import Tariff open data, verified 2026-08-17): (1) Knitted clothing (6109/6110) is subject to 10.5%–12% import duty depending on the material (10.5% for cotton T-shirts, 12% for man-made fibers), or approximately 16%–17.6% in total after adding 5% business tax (VAT). (2) Woven dresses/pants/coats (6202–6204) are subject to approximately 12%, or approximately 17.6% in total. (3) Shoes (6402–6404) are subject to 5–7.5% depending on the upper material, or approximately 10.25%–13% in total. (4) Bags/handbags (4202.21/22) are subject to 6.6%, or approximately 12% in total. (5) Sunglasses (9004.10) are subject to 5%, or approximately 10.25% in total. (6) Perfume (3303.00) is subject to 0% import duty and only 5% business tax (VAT). Tax-free threshold: CIF ≤ NT$2,000 (Article 49 of the Customs Act): keep each shipment of 1-2 garments + 1 accessory within NT$2,000 for a full tax exemption, with a limit of 6 shipments per person within any half-year period.
