Shipping from China to Taiwan: The Complete Guide for Foreigners
Order on Taobao / 1688 / Pinduoduo / Douyin and use our Shenzhen warehouse as the delivery address. When your parcels arrive we consolidate them into fewer boxes and ship to Taiwan. Sea express starts at NT$50 per chargeable unit, each box can weigh up to 70 kg, and parcels can sit in our warehouse free of charge for up to 366 days. To receive a personal import in Taiwan you will need an ARC and a Taiwan mobile number for EZ WAY verification.
How consolidation works — 3 steps
The process is the same whether you order one parcel or thirty.
1. Order on Taobao / 1688 / Pinduoduo / Douyin
At checkout, enter our Shenzhen warehouse as the delivery address instead of your own. Chinese sellers ship domestically to us, which is fast and cheap. Add your Taiwan mobile number at the end of the address line — that way we can match the parcel to your account automatically and you do not have to report tracking numbers to us in advance.
2. We receive and consolidate
When a parcel arrives we check it in and it appears in your account. When you are ready, you choose the parcels you want to send and tap the consolidation button. We repack them into as few boxes as possible — this is where you save the most money — and ship them to Taiwan.
3. Customs clearance and delivery
We handle the import declaration. Once your shipment is cleared, HCT Logistics delivers to your Taiwan address, or you can pick it up at a 7-ELEVEN or FamilyMart store.
Our Shenzhen warehouse address
Copy these three fields into the delivery address form on the shopping site. Keep them in Chinese — Chinese couriers need the Chinese text.
- Recipient name
- 好運器
- Phone
- 13603054302
- Address
- 深圳市宝安区福海街道桥头社区宝安大道6261号彤鑫科技大厦B座3A11
Tip: add your own Taiwan mobile number at the end of the address, for example “…B座3A11 (0912-345-678)”. This is how we identify which parcel is yours.
What it costs
Two things confuse new customers: the site shows several prices, and the weight we charge is not always the weight on your scale. Here is how it actually works.
Personal shipments
Sea express starts at NT$50 per chargeable unit. This is the option almost every individual uses.
Company / registered business
Sea freight from NT$25/kg uses a formal customs declaration, which requires the importer to be a company or a registered business in Taiwan. If you are importing personal belongings, this rate does not apply to you.
Air freight from NT$100/kg is available when you need it fast.
All prices above are starting rates published on our site. Rates move with the market, so please confirm the current rate with us before we ship.
Chargeable weight
Volumetric weight = Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 10000
We charge whichever is greater: the actual weight in kilograms, or the volumetric weight from the formula above. This is why a big box of pillows can cost more than a small box of books.
Duty and tax
Import duty and business tax are charged at actual cost — we pass on exactly what customs charges, with no markup.
Limits worth knowing
You do not have to ship immediately. If you are still overseas, let your parcels accumulate — this is the normal way to do it before you move to Taiwan.
EZ WAY: the step foreigners always ask about
EZ WAY (易利委) is the app Taiwan Customs uses for real-name verification of personal express imports. It is where you confirm that a declaration made in your name is really yours.
Can a foreigner register?
Yes. Taiwan Customs accepts an ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) number in place of a national ID number. You also need a Taiwan mobile number, and the name you enter must match your ARC.
Does the person sending the parcel in China need to register?
No. EZ WAY is only for the receiver in Taiwan — the importer. If a friend or a seller in China ships on your behalf, they do not register anything.
One phone number, one ID
A mobile number can only be bound to one ID / ARC number. If someone else verifies using the same number, the earlier verification is cancelled.
You must be in Taiwan to register
EZ WAY blocks overseas IP addresses for registration and declaration confirmation, so you cannot set it up before you arrive. Do it on a Taiwan network once you are here.
What if I do not have an ARC yet?
If you are arriving on a short-term visa-free or tourist stay you will not have an ARC, and you will not be able to complete EZ WAY verification. Tell us before you ship and we will go through the options with you rather than letting a shipment get stuck at customs.
Where to get a Taiwan mobile number
You can buy a prepaid SIM card at the airport as soon as you land. The three carriers have counters side by side in the arrival hall of Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1. Foreign visitors need two documents: a passport, plus one of an entry permit, visa, boarding pass or entry stamp.
Bringing appliances and electronics
Electrical goods for personal use with a value of not more than USD 1,000 can be imported into Taiwan without commodity inspection. Rice cookers, kettles, small kitchen appliances and similar items are normally fine. If you are shipping something larger or more expensive, ask us first and we will check it before your parcel leaves the warehouse.
One practical note: Taiwan runs on 110V. Chinese appliances are usually built for 220V, so check the label before you buy — a transformer is an extra cost and a fire risk if undersized.
A real conversation with a foreign customer
Below is an actual LINE conversation with a customer moving to Taiwan (name, photo and personal details removed). It covers almost every question foreigners ask us, so it may be faster to read than any FAQ.
Personal details have been removed or generalised. Shipping rates are starting rates and change over time — always confirm the current rate with us before we ship.
Paying on Chinese shopping sites as a foreigner
You pay the Chinese seller directly; we only handle the shipping and the import. Here is what usually works.
- Alipay does not restrict nationality. Taiwanese users verify with a Taiwan Compatriot Permit, Hong Kong and Macau users with a Home Return Permit, and other foreign nationals with a passport.
- International cards are generally accepted: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover and Diners Club.
- International accounts are limited on person-to-person transfers, but paying for purchases works normally.
- Some Chinese platforms still reject foreign cards even when the rules allow them. Try one small order first before you place a large one.
If a verification step asks for something you do not have — for example a China entry stamp when you have never travelled there — send us a screenshot and we will look at it with you.
Case study: a Vietnamese customer ordering from Douyin
Not every foreign customer writes to us in English. This is a real LINE conversation with a Vietnamese customer who wanted to order on Douyin (抖音) and have it delivered in Taiwan — handled entirely in Vietnamese, with a Chinese translation attached so the customer could copy the warehouse address straight into the app. Names, photos and personal details have been removed.
The opening question was simple: “Can I order on Douyin and have it sent to Taiwan?”
What this case shows
Two things trip up almost every first-time foreign customer, and neither is about shipping. First, the parcel does not leave the warehouse until you press the consolidation button yourself. Second, ask us before you buy — not after it arrives — because whether an item may be imported is much cheaper to check than to fix.
You do not have to write to us in English
Our website switches between 14 languages, and you can message our support team in any of them. Write in whichever language you are most comfortable with — we will reply in the same one.

Frequently asked questions
I live in Taiwan but do not read Chinese. Can I still use Taobao?
Yes. Most customers use the browser translation feature or the app in English. The only part that must stay in Chinese is the delivery address you paste at checkout — keep our warehouse address exactly as it is written.
Do I need a Taiwan address before I start ordering?
No. You can start sending parcels to our Shenzhen warehouse straight away and give us your Taiwan address later, when you are ready for us to ship. Storage is free for up to 366 days.
How is the shipping fee calculated?
We charge the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, where volumetric weight = length × width × height in centimetres ÷ 10000. Sea express starts at NT$50 per chargeable unit.
How heavy can one box be?
Up to 70 kg per box. Most household shipments end up as several boxes of 15–25 kg, which is easier to handle at both ends.
Who pays the import duty?
You do, but at actual cost — we charge exactly what customs charges. There is a duty-free allowance for low-value personal imports, and we will tell you where your shipment falls before it ships.
Can my friend in China send the parcels for me?
Yes, this is very common. They ship domestically to our Shenzhen warehouse and they do not need to register on EZ WAY or anywhere else. Only you, as the receiver in Taiwan, complete the real-name verification.
What cannot be shipped?
Prohibited and restricted goods such as batteries above certain limits, liquids and aerosols, food and agricultural products with quarantine requirements, medicines and counterfeit goods. If you are unsure about an item, send us a photo or a product link on LINE before you buy.
Not sure where to start?
Send us a message with what you want to ship — a product link or a photo is enough — and we will tell you whether it can be imported, roughly what it will cost, and what you need to prepare. In any of our 14 languages.
