Convenience Store Pickup for Consolidated Parcels (7-11/FamilyMart): limits, fees and setup
Short answer: can a consolidated parcel be picked up at a convenience store?
Yes. HowBridge currently works with three options for the final leg: HCT home delivery, 7-ELEVEN store pickup and FamilyMart store pickup. Store pickup and home delivery cost exactly the same, with no surcharge. The only restriction is the format: the whole consolidated bag must not exceed 5 kg including the packing bag (the bag weighs about 0.1 kg, so the parcels inside can total 4.9 kg net), and the bag's length + width + height must add up to ≤ 105 cm with the longest side ≤ 45 cm. If any one of these is exceeded, the system blocks it the moment you submit the order — switch to home delivery, or split this consolidation into two orders.
What are the limits for store pickup? Three thresholds at a glance
All three thresholds must be met at the same time — none of them can be skipped; and all three are measured on the bag after consolidation, not on each item you bought.
▲ All three must be met at once
| Item | Limit | How it is measured |
|---|---|---|
| Weight (packing bag included) | 5 kg | The whole bag is weighed after the warehouse consolidates it, packing bag included |
| Weight (parcels, net) | 4.9 kg | The packing bag weighs about 0.1 kg, so your items can only add up to 4.9 kg |
| Three sides combined | 105 cm | The bag's length + width + height added together |
| Longest side | 45 cm | The longest single side of the bag |
⚠️ The three conditions apply together: a bag of 4.2 kg with a longest side of 50 cm still cannot go by store pickup. When a limit is exceeded, the system blocks it the moment you submit the consolidation order and tells you why — it will not wait until the parcel reaches the store and gets returned.
Why 4.9 kg for the whole bag, and not 5 kg per parcel?
Because what leaves the warehouse is one bag, not a series of separate parcels. However many items you consolidate into a single order, the warehouse packs them into one bag, attaches a single label and hands it over as one shipment. So what the store receives and weighs is that entire bag.
Which means: three items of 2 kg each in the same order make a 6 kg bag, which cannot go by store pickup — even though every single item is far below 5 kg. To use store pickup you would split this consolidation into two orders (say two items in one and one in the other), or switch to home delivery.
You may have found that both the 7-ELEVEN Delivery Service and FamilyMart store-to-store official pages state a limit of 10 kg. That is the specification for dropping a parcel off yourself at a store counter, and it is a different channel from "a consolidated parcel delivered to a store for you to collect after customs release", with different terms and handling. For HowBridge consolidated parcels, go by this page and the validation shown at checkout: 5 kg for the whole bag including the packing bag, 4.9 kg net. As an aside, FamilyMart also runs a "Fami small-item bag" service limited to 5 kg — that is a separate service using a dedicated bag, not the general store-to-store limit, and it is why both 5 kg and 10 kg circulate online.
Is there a surcharge for store pickup?
No. Choosing 7-11 or FamilyMart store pickup costs exactly the same as home delivery by HCT, with no pickup handling fee and no markup of any kind. All you pay is the consolidation freight, plus the import duty and 5% business tax collected in cash by HCT on delivery (if the customs value exceeds the exemption threshold).
The taxpayer for import duties and taxes is the recipient, and HowBridge adds no markup; for the exemption threshold and the calculation see the import tax guide.
How do you set up store pickup? Five steps
-
1Sign in to your member account
Sign in to HowBridge and go to "Member Centre → Recipients".
-
2Add a recipient
Click "Add recipient" and switch the recipient type from "Home delivery" to "7-11 store pickup" or "FamilyMart store pickup".
-
3Choose the store
Select city → district → store in that order. The store list is built into the system and searchable, so you never need to copy a store code yourself.
-
4Fill in the collector's details
The collector's name must match their ID (staff check identity at the counter), and the contact number must be a Taiwan mobile number starting with 09 so the pickup SMS can reach you.
-
5Select this recipient when you submit the order
Choose this store recipient when submitting the consolidation order. If the whole bag exceeds the limits, the system flags it and blocks it at this point — switch to home delivery, or reduce the parcels in this consolidation.
Can you choose a Taiwan convenience store directly on Pinduoduo, Taobao or JD?
No. The "pickup point / store pickup" options on those checkout pages only cover locations inside mainland China; buyers in Taiwan cannot select a Taiwanese 7-11 or FamilyMart on the platform. To reach a Taiwanese store the parcel has to go through consolidation: first to the consolidation warehouse, then export and Taiwan import declaration handled by the consolidator, and only the Taiwan leg after release is arranged by us to the store you chose.
| Shopping platform | Taiwan store selectable on the platform? | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Pinduoduo | Platform pickup points cover mainland China only | Use consolidation; delivered to 7-11/FamilyMart after arrival in Taiwan |
| Taobao/Tmall | Platform store pickup covers mainland China only | Use consolidation; delivered to 7-11/FamilyMart after arrival in Taiwan |
| JD | Platform lockers and pickup points cover mainland China only | Use consolidation; delivered to 7-11/FamilyMart after arrival in Taiwan |
| Xiaohongshu, Douyin, 1688 and others | Same as above: no Taiwan store option on the platform | Use consolidation; delivered to 7-11/FamilyMart after arrival in Taiwan |
So on the shopping platform enter the consolidation warehouse address as the delivery address and never a Taiwanese store address — the platform cannot deliver to a store in Taiwan, so such an order will simply not arrive.
Store pickup or home delivery: how to choose
The freight is the same either way; the difference is in the limits and how you collect:
| Comparison | Store pickup (7-11/FamilyMart) | Home delivery (HCT) |
|---|---|---|
| Freight | Same as home delivery, no surcharge | Standard freight |
| Weight limit for the whole bag | 5 kg including the bag (4.9 kg net) | No such ceiling; charged by weight bracket |
| Size limit for the whole bag | Three sides ≤ 105 cm, longest side ≤ 45 cm | Large items, furniture and appliances all accepted |
| When you collect | Collect yourself during store opening hours | Someone has to be home to sign |
| Best for | Small, light shipments when nobody is home during the day | Large or heavy shipments you want delivered to the door |
The test is simple: work out how heavy and how bulky this consolidation will be once bagged. Exceed any one threshold and home delivery is the only option; stay within them and either works, at the same price.

The parcel has reached the store — how do you track and collect it?
Progress on the Taiwan leg follows the tracking number issued by the local carrier; the original mainland China tracking number no longer shows anything at this stage.
- Arrival notice
- Once the parcel reaches the store you are notified by SMS with the collection details. The official notification schedule is: 7-ELEVEN sends one on the day of arrival and again on the fourth day; FamilyMart sends one on the first day and again on the third. Make sure the recipient's number is a Taiwan mobile number starting with 09, or the notice will not reach you.
- Checking progress
- Sign in to your HowBridge member account to see the delivery status of that consolidation order; you can also use the carrier's tracking number on the carrier's own website.
- How to collect
- Bring photo ID to the store you selected. The collector's name must match the ID, and store staff will verify identity.
- Holding period: 7 days for ambient parcels
- Both chains hold ambient parcels at the store for 7 days after arrival, after which an uncollected parcel is returned to the sending end (7-ELEVEN Delivery Service: "if the recipient does not collect within 7 days of arrival, the item is returned to the original sending store"; FamilyMart store-to-store: "if no one collects within seven days of arrival at the collection store, the item is returned to the original sending store"). The actual final collection date still follows what your pickup notification SMS states, so collect as soon as you are notified.
Stores you can actually choose on HowBridge: how many 7-11 and FamilyMart branches?
The figures below are the actual number of selectable stores in HowBridge's store database (not the chains' published totals) — that is, the stores you can genuinely pick in your member account:
| Chain | Selectable stores | Cities covered | Districts covered | Data as of |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7-ELEVEN | 7,589 stores | 22 | 366 | 2026-10-05 |
| FamilyMart | 4,700 stores | 22 | 329 | 2026-10-05 |
12,289 stores in total across both chains, covering all 22 cities and counties of Taiwan.
Source: the actual row counts in HowBridge's store database (seven_eleven_stores/family_mart_stores), not the chains' officially published totals; stores open and close over time, so the definitive list is the one shown in your member account at the time of ordering.
How long from customs release to leaving the warehouse?
Store-pickup and home-delivery shipments follow exactly the same customs process. Measured on 556 HowBridge declarations, 51.8% left the warehouse within 24 hours of customs release and 71.8% within 48 hours (period 2026-07-01 to 2026-08-31, verified on 2026-09-17). These are operational measurements, not an officially published standard; long holidays, typhoons or an inspection can still delay things.
The customs release figures above cover only declarations already filed with customs; shipments not yet filed are not counted, and the data carries no clearance-type (C1/C2/C3) code.
Terms used on this page
These terms are often mixed up, but they refer to different things:
- Store-to-store (convenience store pickup)
- A delivery method where the parcel goes to a nominated convenience store and the recipient collects it there. HowBridge currently works with two chains, 7-ELEVEN and FamilyMart, at the same price as home delivery.
- The whole bag (one bag after consolidation)
- All the parcels in a single consolidation order, packed by the warehouse into one bag with a single label and handed to the carrier as one shipment. Both the weight and the size limits for store pickup are measured on this bag, not on an individual item inside it.
- Packing bag weight (tare)
- The weight of the packing bag itself; the warehouse's bag weighs about 0.1 kg. Because the store limit is measured with the bag included, a 5 kg ceiling for the whole bag means the goods inside can weigh at most 4.9 kg net.
- Three sides combined
- The sum of a parcel's length, width and height. The limit for convenience store pickup is 105 cm, and the longest of those sides must not exceed 45 cm.
- Counter drop-off (store-to-store shipping by consumers)
- The service where a consumer takes a parcel to a store counter and sends it. The official general specification is the same for the 7-ELEVEN Delivery Service and FamilyMart store-to-store: longest side ≦45 cm, three sides ≦105 cm, weight ≦10 kg; FamilyMart additionally runs a "Fami small-item bag" service limited to 5 kg. This is a different channel from "a consolidated parcel delivered to a store for collection", and the specifications cannot be applied to one another.
- Last mile
- The final stretch from customs release to the recipient's hands. HowBridge offers three: HCT home delivery, 7-ELEVEN store pickup and FamilyMart store pickup.
